Over drinks at the ranch, Victor hasn’t summoned Mike to discuss the spies embedded at Jabot. Something’s going on at Winters – he’s worried about Lily and wants to help her.
Lily joins Damian for their transaction dinner (at the club). What she wants is info on how things are going between him, his mother and Nate.
What’s all this? Chelsea walks into a room full of candles. This is for you, Adam wheels out a cart with two silver domed dishes that he boasts will be the best dinner she’s ever had.
Adam pours wine he opened earlier to ‘let breathe’. He cooked so they could have an intimate dinner at home (without being questioned)
After what happened with Chancellor, Victor will always have Lily’s back. Plus, she’s family now (via Devon) Mike thinks ‘it’ very generous of Victor to put his differences with Nate aside. This has to do with Aristotle Dumas, the reclusive billionaire who lives in DC, Victor explains. No photos of him exist – he might not even exist, but Victor wants to know what interest he has in Lily, Devon and Winters.
Approving the Pinot Grigio Damian’s chosen, Lily wants to know why he cut his mother out of his life after his father died.
Relaying what he’s learned, Victor tells Mike that Damian’s companies are owned by the mysterious Aristotle Dumas. He worries that Lily, Devon and Nate don’t know what they’re getting into. Mike’s to find out everything he can about the relationship between Damian Kane and Aristotle Dumas.
Lily wants to help Damian, Amy and Nate. But, if he means to harm them, she’ll protect them. Long story short, Damian blamed his Mom for his Dad’s death (of a broken heart) she didn’t seem to care and was hardly around. Just today, she explained that she was trying to be brave and had to work two jobs. Damian came to hate her and isn’t sure he can let that go.
Chelsea doesn’t recall Adam being comfortable in the kitchen. No, he didn’t cook with Sally – they ate a lot of take-out. Adam lifts her silver dome to reveal homemade pasta and sauce (which must be cold by now) He even grated the cheese and garlic himself. You went to a lot of trouble, Chelsea’s impressed. To you – to us, they toast.
Finally taking a bite, Chelsea declares the pasta ‘amazing’. Agreeing, Adam won’t share his secret ingredient. Dessert is her favourite cheesecake he had flown in from NYC. You’re worth the trouble.
