On the patio, Lily and Devon have their meeting with Nate. Devon spoke to Victor, Lily spoke to Nick. Assuming it’s not good news, Nate heads for the door. Devon asks him to sit and listen.
At home, Diane and Jack talk business until Billy comes in to interrupt their kiss. He just had a talk with his Mom – about Tucker McCall.
Tucker approaches Jill’s table at Society. She makes it clear that he’ll never get his hands on Chancellor. She has legal provisions in place – it won’t happen even if she dies. Maime walks in to frown at the pair sitting together.
Maime wastes no time accosting Jill and Tucker. He tells Jill that he’s just trying to help her. Name your price.
Tucker’s back to his original agenda – take Jabot and Chancellor. Jill’s trying to convince Billy to go help her. We need you, Jack protests. She needs me more, Billy explains. He’s not going anywhere but does have an idea.
Lily wants to believe Nate’s learned from his mistake. But, Victor’s convinced you wanted to take over, Devon adds. Lily doesn’t think he was using Victor’s illness as a power grab – she thinks they should let go of the past so he has family to lean on. What needs is a chance at the company. Aunt Maime believes in me. Tucker’s coming for us – Devon’s willing to give Nate another shot.
Nate greatly appreciates his cousins giving him another chance – I’m humbled. I’ll make them proud. He’s willing to take whatever position they give him. Jill feels he should oversee product and content division. Nate can’t wait to get started. You won’t regret this, he promises. Aunt Maime will be so happy. Of course he’ll sign a non-compete/non-disclose.
There’s NO price Jill would sell CW to Tucker for – she’d almost rather sell to Maime. Devon and Lily will keep her in line but not Tucker – he’s a loose cannon who wants to make a big noise. Jill warns them not to come after her or her family/company.
Billy tells Jack and Diane that Tucker’s coming for Jabot and Chancellor. We should unite to go straight at him.
Whaddaya think? Diane and Jack’s enthusiasm is ‘underwhelming’. Jack doesn’t think Jill feels threatened; she wants you (Billy) at CW. Diane suggests they publish the dirt on Tucker. Billy and Jack don’t think it’ll make a splash. Maybe he’s not making any moves – he just wants to see us squirm. Jack thinks Diane might have just come up with Tucker’s end game.
