Doing some Newman work at CL’s, Vikki’s got a project for him. He asks her to cover for him a bit longer – just a week or two. Vikki thinks it IS too much to ask – you need a break from Sharon and all her drama.
At Society, new BFF’s Sharon and Phyllis thank God that Martin’s behind bars – both hope he rots in prison. The trauma that man caused us. Don’t ‘shrink me’, Phyllis jokes – then manages to nod and smile when Sharon tells her that the family trip (with Nick) to London is back on.
Jack and Diane come down the CGAC’s staircase chatting about having a psychopath living under their roof and how ‘shattered’ poor Traci is.
Traci arrives as Sharon’s telling Phyllis that they’re leaving on the Newman jet in a few hours. She asked the ladies to meet her because she has something to tell them. Don’t tell me Martin’s getting away with what he did to us, Phyllis pales.
Now seated, Diane lets Jack know that she’s annoyed that he confided in Ashley but not her. Jack DOES trust Diane but Traci swore him to secrecy. And, he wanted to protect Diane. You protecting me by keeping me in the dark put me at risk, she feels she had a right to know.
Sharon’s drama? She didn’t ask for three psychopaths to target her one after the other – did Claire ask Jordan to torment HER? Nick defends going to London with Sharon. I’ll be fine! Vikki packs up like she’s NOT fine. She knows Nick likes to play hero but wishes he’d live a safe, boring life instead of risking his life to rescue his troubled exes.
Traci assures Sharon and Phyllis that the case against Martin is solid. Thank God, they clink their glasses. Traci apologizes for bringing this man to town who wreaked havoc on their lives. Neither blame her – but, Phyllis IS having a hard time letting this go. When was the exact moment you realized it was Martin??? Traci doesn’t see why that matters. Neither does Sharon – it sounds like you (Phyllis) are looking for someone else to blame.
Over lunch, Diane continues to grumble about being kept out of the loop. What if Martin had gone after Harrison? After Jack explains that Traci insisted on being the one to confront Martin, Diane then whines about the family not accepting her – she still feels ‘on the outside looking in’.
You’re not just a rock for Sharon and Phyllis – you’re MY rock too (though Vikki doesn’t find herself tied to a train-track, in need of being rescued every other week) That’s an exaggeration, it’s more like every other month, Nick jokes. Vikki then basically asks if he’s getting back with Sharon.
Phyllis doesn’t blame Traci. A protective Sharon knows there was nothing she could have done to stop this. Traci wishes she knew the truth in time to save them. If there were any signs, I missed them. Martin fooled a lot of people, Sharon continues to be supportive. Blinking back tears, Traci will have to find a way to live with the fact that she fell in love with a lie.
Traci thanks Sharon and Phyllis for being so compassionate and understanding. Phyllis wonders ‘why us’? I didn’t know him. Traci knows Sharon must be upset that she trusted him. Martin wanted to prove that he was a better doctor than his brother (by getting two women who hate each other to work together) Alan just wanted to help people, Traci sighs.
