Lily’s just being protective of her family, Nate feels partly responsible (since he lied to Damian first) I asked Lily to leave this alone, he adds. Who did she talk to? Amy wonders – Denise (the PI)? Nate suspects Victor Newman is Lily’s source. Damian’s annoyed that she’d trust the man who ripped her company away over him. He’s not thrilled that Nate’s family is digging into his private life – these insults and accusations aren’t part of the ‘bargain’.
If there’s conflict, Amy wants to deal with it. Why is Lily doing a background check? She doesn’t trust me and it’s not just her (he knows Nate’s using Audra’s history with Holden to get information on him) Wait, what history do they have? Amy wonders.
Now at home, Chelsea’s all worked up – because of Billy. Yes, she told him about ‘us’. Did he give you a big high five? Or did he say I manipulated you? Exactly – but Chelsea believes in Adam and is happy with him. She believes he’s hurt, his pride is wounded. Adam knows Billy will never forgive him for Delia (and Adam will never forgive himself)
At the house, Billy sees right through Sally’s fake smile and correctly guesses that she ran into Adam (and that he told her that he and Chelsea are ‘lovebirds’ again) Sally’s happy for Connor; good for them. Billy doesn’t believe Adam’s changed – he’s the same monster he’s always been.
Nate explains that Audra and Holden knew each other back in LA. More secrets, Amy disapproves. Damian will make sure that Lily knows her information’s garbage and get her to back off. Amy wonders if Damian’s involved in something dangerous. No, Damian gives his word.
Billy’s dumping his misery on Sally right now, Adam assumes; he tells Chelsea that he too was breaking the news to his ex – Sally seemed happy for us, and Connor. Chelsea’s glad – things won’t be awkward at Marchetti. Adam then shares his suspicion that things aren’t going well between Sally and Billy. He’s too selfish to notice (Adam knows this because he used to be the same way)
Adam’s flawed but human, Sally states. He IS a monster, Billy lists what he did – he sucked Chelsea in and spit you out. Sally’s indignant – I was with a monster? All roads leave back to Victor for Adam, Billy claims. The same could be said of you, Sally fires back.
Adam’s annoyed – if I can change, why can’t Billy? Chelsea wishes he (Billy) would focus on what he has in his life, not what he doesn’t. He’ll never be the man Sally deserves, Adam says that Billy wants to win but can’t help but lose.
Billy’s heated – Adam (and Victor) cut me off at the knees. He’s trying to tear down Abbott Communications. This is the same conversation I just had with Chelsea, he’s frustrated. Sally wants to focus on the business Billy’s started. She’d love to help him leave the anger behind – but she’s concerned he’s not capable of that; which makes her sad ‘for both of us’.
Amy’s sorry Damian feels attacked and doesn’t want him to back away from her and Nate. I’m not going anywhere, Damian vows. Amy makes them promise that they’ll protect this ‘gift’ (and tell Lily to back off) After she goes up to rest, Damian asks if that was for real or to keep his Mom from getting worked up. Nate wants to believe Damian didn’t have a ‘dossier’ on him and his cousins. If Victor is Lily’s source, someone’s passing along bad intel, Damian insists. Who wants to make you look bad – and why? Nate asks (cue the ominous music)
