Adam and Sally make awkward small talk at Society; both are glad they made it to this point. Adam has something to say that he wants her to hear from him – he and Chelsea are a couple again.
Likewise, Billy and Chelsea run into one another at CL’s. She tells him that she and Adam have gotten closer. You’re back together? Billy asks.
Refusing to be coddled or hovered over, Amy scolds Nate and Damian – why did Lily leave!? And what are you two fighting about? Aren’t you sick of the lies and secrets??
Damian explains that Lily got some misinformation; it’s cleared up now. Nate changes the subject to Amy needing to rest after her first round of this new treatment. Refusing to let it go, Amy wants the FULL story. And don’t lie to me – I’ll know.
Mentioning ‘that night in Baltimore’, Sally thinks it was only a matter of time. She’s happy for Adam and accepting his invitation to sit down claims that things are going well with Billy – but – she can’t help wondering ‘what if’ (she went to Baltimore with him) Adam’s puzzled – if things are so good with Billy why are you thinking about ‘what if’?
Billy’s sure that Adam’s playing Chelsea – this is what he wanted all along. He can’t believe she wants to be with Adam after everything he’s done to her. Think twice, he warns – this is a terrible mistake.
Did Billy do something to upset you? Adam presses. No, life is tricky and complicated – things can change in one moment. We had a child, Sally reminds – you never think about what could have been? Adam’s sure that Billy will hurt Sally – you deserve better.
Back at CL’s, Billy bristles at the suggestion that he should keep his mouth shut or lie to Chelsea (who insists she’s not clueless or stupid – and wouldn’t put her son at risk) Billy knows her to be kind and loving – but she has a blind spot where Adam’s concerned. He’s kind and patient, Chelsea insists that Adam’s evolved (maybe because he lost a baby) He’s been through hell. You just want someone to hate, she concludes.
Damian tells his Mom that Lily was told that he knew all about her and Devon before he came to GC. Amy wonders if there’s a reason Lily’s trying to find dirt on him.
We have history and affection but aren’t ‘each other’s person’ – Sally’s happy and so is Adam. Connor must be thrilled and that’s what matters most. Adam agrees and relays how excited he was by the news. Sally insists that she’s happy with her life. Adam sincerely wants the best for her. She knows that.
Billy’s astonished – you think I thrive on hate? Adam’s a vindictive manipulator. Chelsea knows that he has reasons to hate Adam – but we didn’t plan this. You’re with Sally now, she points out. If you only want to see me happy on your terms, that’s you problem, not mine.
