At the club, Jack and Diane joke with the blushing bride-to-be (Traci) and admire her engagement ring. She then catches Jack off-guard by asking to take the company jet to Paris – tonight – that’s where she and Alan want to get married.
Sharon serves Nick some Yorkshire Tea and a scone; a not-so-subtle attempt to bribe him into coming to Europe with her and Faith to visit Noah. Tempting, but Nick has to say ‘no’.
Adam barks into his phone – he doesn’t need a lecture on journalistic standards! He has no sources but is sure the company Billy Abbott just launched will crash and burn! Fine, run it as an ‘op-ed’ ~click~ Chelsea appears to comment that Adam’s looking for payback.
That call was just about work, Adam claims. You’re at home and off the clock, Chelsea takes his phone. Adam then notices the candles and table setting. By ‘payback’, Chelsea meant that she’s cooked dinner for him. Adam’s relieved that he’s not in trouble.
Paris? Jack and Diane are surprised. Yes, Traci and Alan are getting married in the most romantic city in the world – they’re just going to find the right venue. Alan only proposed a few hours ago and wants to whisk you off? It seems rushed to Jack; he’d feel better after talking to Alan – where is he, anyway?
It’s not that Nick can’t leave work – he thinks Sharon needs time alone with her kids and a change of scenery. You’ve been through a lot – you need time to heal. He’ll keep an eye on things around here. Sharon would rather Nick come to England to keep an eye on her.
Traci tells Jack and Diane that Alan’s getting weird messages on his phone (about a security breach) – he’s been hacked. Jack can’t help but worry – this man’s stolen your heart. No, Traci gave her heart to Alan – he’s 100% himself. Asked to walk Traci down the aisle, Jack would be honoured.
Over wine, Chelsea and Adam chat about an elderly couple he saw holding hands. Maybe they finally got it right. As long as we get there, it’d be worth it, Adam charms.
Nick insists Sharon take this time to heal. It won’t be the same without you, she persists to the point that Nick has a question – be honest – do you ever think about ‘us’? You and me? Sharon feigns surprise.
