At CL’s, Adam and Chelsea’s boring conversation is interrupted when Connor sends them both a text saying that he’s trying out for the baseball team after school. He’s never played ‘organized baseball’, Chelsea worries before OKing it.
Jack and Diane stop by Victor and Nikki’s table at the GCAC. After a brief discussion about home renovations, Victor asks for a word with Jack.
Victor wants to know what inspired Jack’s idiot brother to compete against Newman Media.
Billy pauses to chat with Chelsea about Connor. Happy to hear that he’s trying out for baseball, Billy suggests going with Johnny and Katie to the batting cages. When he needs to go start his ‘busy day’, Adam wonders if today is the official launch of the attack on him (and Newman Media)
Where did Victor get his intel? He knows everything that goes on in the corporate business world and looks forward to Billy-Boy going down in flames (along with Jack’s money)
Not everything’s a competition, Billy tells Adam that he won’t be competing with Newman Media – he plans to run an ethical media company – truth matters. Billy continues to take the high road – he’s found his voice and it’s an optimistic one. Adam then goes on a rant about Phyllis.
Diane scolds Victor for invoking John Abbott’s name. Jack’s sure his father would be proud of Billy – and understands why Victor and Adam are ‘nervous’.
When the Abbott’s remind Victor that he underestimated them with Glacade, Victor uses a metaphor. You can redecorate your home but there’s cracks in the foundation – it will soon be in ruins. Before going to enjoy their breakfast, Jack surprises Victor by saying he wants to make a pact.
Back at CL’s, Adam claims that he’s just trying to get a quote from Billy (to publish) Billy still won’t take the bait and when Adam excuses himself to take a call (because he’s got a real company to run) he asks Chelsea where Adam got his information and reiterates that he’s not going after Adam/Newman Media. Billy also senses that something’s going on between her and Adam.
Are you high on pills again? Victor elicits a ‘what on earth!’ out of Nikki. She agrees with the Abbott’s that Kyle and Claire should be left out of their battle. Who’s not in agreement? Victor.
