You’re never an interruption, Victor assures Claire. Grandma will meet them at Society after her meeting. He won’t go easy on Kyle – but he won’t grill him too intensely either – or maybe he will – you never know.
Mom and Billy finally convinced me, Daniel’s actually looking forward to brainstorming his ideas. Things are falling into place for both him and Lucy, and no, he’s not worried about working with Mom. When Claire arrives with her grandfather, Daniel notes his sister and her cousin staring at one another.
On the dancefloor, Jack thanks Diane for a perfect evening. What now? An early dinner? A walk in the park? Or going upstairs to ‘fool around’. Fooling around it is, the Abbotts run up the stairs.
Claire stands behind Victor as he exchanges brief pleasantries with Summer and Daniel. Picking Kyle up at the bar, the three take a seat at their table. Watching, Summer observes that Kyle looks miserable. Why do you care if you aren’t jealous? Daniel asks.
Telling Claire that tonight’s specials include her favourite, the Paella, Kyle politely asks Victor if he’s a fan. Victor doesn’t want to hear about Paella – get to the point, he rudely demands.
Kyle’s the father of my son, Summer’s just worried that her grandfather hurting him, will hurt Harrison. He’ll make both their lives miserable – it’s what my grandpa does. He was so happy being with both his parents the other day, she tells Daniel. When Summer tells him to put Lucy in Harrison’s shoes, he can’t say he wouldn’t be worried too.
Declining to wait until Nikki arrives, Victor notes that Kyle and his beautiful granddaughter seem ‘enamoured’ with one another. He shares his concern that, basically, Kyle will hurt this granddaughter (Claire) like he did his other one (Summer) This damage is inevitable because the Abbott family will soon implode (which he knows to be a fact)
Done making out, Diane teases Jack that she’s having a revolving door installed at the house. Unfortunately, they aren’t done making out after all.
Daniel knows Kyle would do anything to spare his son turmoil – he also won’t break up with Claire because you or Victor ask him to. Summer agrees – it’ll be a lot more complicated than that.
Claire tells her grandfather that his assumptions are based on something that may never happen (an Abbott-family implosion) Kyle appreciates Victor sharing his concerns. He’s angry at the way Victor used him but would never direct ‘my anger towards you against her’. We’re going to pursue a relationship with or without your blessing – but since I’m here, is there anything I can do or say to get it? No, there isn’t.
