At the Abbott house for lunch, Claire receives a warm welcome from Kyle, Jack and Diane.
After a fun morning of painting with Harrison at school, Summer joins her brother at CL’s. Mom’s all gung ho on working with Billy but Daniel’s ‘not there yet’.
Billy shares his ideas with Phyllis – he wants their media company to stay small and focussed (to compete with Newman Media) If this is just about going after Victor and Adam, she’s out.
Wow – ‘home’ – Connor plans to set up his new room just like his old room. He’s excited about living with both his Mom and Dad.j
At the other ranch, Vikki fusses over her Dad. He’s been thinking about how close he came to dying; it’s time they talk about the future.
After Connor goes up to his room, Chelsea thinks they need to make it clear to their son that they’re just coparenting. Adam’s not an idiot – he’ll respect her boundaries and claims to have accepted that they won’t have a relationship.
Phyllis makes it clear that she won’t be involved in a corporate duel – Daniel won’t want any part of that. Billy doesn’t plan to use their company to go after enemies without mercy (like Victor does)
Vikki doesn’t want to talk about what Victor calls the ‘inevitable’. I never want to lose you, she tears up. Both are emotional as they exchange I love you’s.
It’s just the four of us; Ashley’s in Paris, Traci and Alan are in Chicago. Claire would love to hear more about John Abbott – and Jack would love to talk about him.
Phyllis likes the idea of Abbott Communications being a ‘noble’ company – how about Abbott-Summers Communications? Don’t push it, Billy asks what Daniel’s role should be.
Mom always gets caught up in the moment – but Daniel told Billy they need time to think about it. Because Mom really, really wants this, Summer’s advice is to let her down gently (but quickly) Daniel would like to work with her. Billy, not so much.
Victor’s happy to see his other kids accepting Adam. Vikki can’t help but be impressed by her brothers courage and his dedication to Connor. He’s volatile, she’ll never be able to fully trust him. If something goes wrong, he wants to burn everything down.
Chelsea finds it a bit ‘freaky’ to be living in Victor’s house. She’s always loved this place but it’s unnerving. My Dad won’t bother you, Adam assures. Have you met your father? Chelsea jokes. Coming back down, Connor insists his Mom come with them to visit Victor.
Jack tells Claire the story about his Dad catching him taking his car out for a joyride when he was 14. When he was 16, John gave him the car. Listing everyone who’s here to make new memories in the house, Jack feels they’d be lucky to add Claire to that list.
Victor vows to be in fighting form very soon. Connor’s impressed that his grandpa saved grandma’s life. You’re a hero. Victor will protect Connor too – if anyone hurts you, they’ll get this (fist) Chelsea and Adam share a smile.
John sounds like a wonderful man, Claire concludes as Billy arrives. She, Diane and Kyle leave the brothers to talk. Knowing what he wants to do, Billy’s there to share details and discuss Jack funding his venture.
Joining her kids at CL’s, Phyllis has good news. Billy has great ideas for Abbott Communications. It’s a game changer. ‘Shelf your disdain for Billy and just do this with me’, she implores of Daniel.
