Nick lays out his theory. Sharon was targeted for months – on PCP, she confronted Heather and passes out – wakes up to assume she killed Heather. The real murderer expected her to take the blame. Ian Ward despises the Newmans – he’s not back to make amends. This could all be coincidence, Chance isn’t sold. Nick’s gut tells him otherwise.
Mariah hasn’t slept well since Ian showed up and now Sharon’s missing. Nikki told Claire about the things Ian did – he was stopped then and we’ll stop him again. Ian sounds like my Aunt – Claire can’t imagine coming face to face with Jordan. She then shares the scare she had earlier here. After hearing a woman order oolong tea with agave and half and half, she called the prison to confirm that Jordan’s still locked up. That’s good, Mariah’s relieved – we don’t need two crazies running around.
Ian won’t be able to console the grieving Mariah if her Mother’s drowned body isn’t retrieved from the river. He heard Chance talking to another cop – Sharon’s body wasn’t found in the river. What did you do with her?!
Connor asked Chelsea to move into the ranch with him and his Dad. She wants to be there for him. Vikki’s very impressed with Connor and credits Chelsea and Adam’s love and support with how well he’s managing his OCD. Vikki admires them both.
Claire really feels for Mariah and her family. If Jordan got out she doesn’t know what she’d do. Knowing she’ll be in prison for life enables her to sleep at night. After Sharon’s found, Mariah says they’ll deal with Ian.
Ending a call, Chance still has no news but points out that Ian was at Society around the same time Sharon disappeared. He’d have to be in two places at the same time. Chance needs proof. He wanted to make a reservation for two that night, Nick recalls – what if he’s not working alone?
Jordan put Sharon somewhere safe, where she’ll never escape. What the hell were you thinking? Ian demands to know. Jordan’s feeling stifled in this partnership – trust is for amateurs. She won’t be belittled. One person’s ‘loose end’ might be another person’s insurance policy. But honey, who’s gonna keep you warm at night? As if, she mocks Ian. You’re making a mistake, he warns. Turning your back on me wouldn’t be wise. When he threatens to tell the police that she killed Heather, Jordan threatens to tell the cops where Sharon is – and every shred of evidence will put you right there. Good luck with Mariah – have a nice life, Reverend. Arghhhh, Ian’s left to erupt in fury.
Yes, Vikki does think it’s a good idea. You’re a good influence on Adam and he can use all the good influences he can get. Chelsea doesn’t know if she’s ready to commit to that. The commitment would be to Connor. Chelsea’s not sure Adam sees the difference.
You think Ward’s working with someone? That’s interesting – Chance will keep that in mind. Summer wishes there was something she could do. There is – keep Phylli in her lane. Mom’s sworn that she’s backing off on Sharon – it’s her new year’s resolution. She said something about karma kicking in. Who would do something this wildly extreme? and why? Nick wonders.
In her blond wig and hat, Jordan orders her fancy tea. Second later, Claire comes inside from the patio. She then hears her Aunt say ‘thank you’. Jordan!? she runs out after her.
Now alone, Chelsea smiles at her phone screensaver – holiday photo of her, Adam and Connor. She calls Adam to ask that they meet – she’s made her decision on moving to the ranch.
Nick tells Chance that he went to see Ian. You told me to stay out of the investigation, you didn’t say one word about staying away from that psycho. He’s filed a letter with the department saying you threatened him, Chance reminds – and he’s got an alibi – you. Tell me you didn’t threaten Ian again. Let the professionals handle it. Nick’s convinced Ian is working with someone as twisted as he is.
Sharon drinks from her bottle of water then tries (unsuccessfully) to reach some sort of tool with her foot.
Claire catches up to Jordan in the park. Hearing her name, this time Jordan turns around and removes her glasses. ‘Hello, kitten’, she smirks evilly. My God, it IS you, Claire gasps.
My Thoughts: If only folks could ‘feel it’ when a loved one was dead or alive. Sure, Mariah’s right but it’s silly to think she’d be be able to feel if her Mom was dead when Sharon didn’t feel that she’d given birth to twins. Never mind all the other kids that felt their Mom was dead when she wasn’t – Daniel, Summer Kyle for starters. Also gotta say that Mariah’s mistaken in saying they just got ‘proof’ that Sharon didn’t kill Heather. A couple of hypnosis sessions conducted in Sharon’s own home – with only the love of her life and win-at-all-cost lawyer as witnesses is hardly solid evidence. Part of their defence is that Sharon was drugged with PCP – a drug whose side effects include hallucinations and memory loss. Taking anything she ‘remembers’ as proof would be ridiculous…. Jordan and Ian’s ‘safehouse’ likely has paper thin walls – so they should probably stop shouting about what they’ve been up to.
