At the ranch, Claire hugs her grandparents. Cole whisked her Mom away for a romantic getaway. Victor’s glad she’s feeling better and that Cole’s mulling over his job offer. The three Newmans toast to this year being the best one of all.
Mariah goes on ahead, Sharon will take her own car, Nick and Faith will pop in to see Victor and Nikki before they all meet up at Society. The last to leave, Nick tells Sharon that the police have a team watching over Daniel and Lucy – he’s working on getting Sharon protection too.
Sorry, but Danny and I are doing just fine, Chris informs. Phyllis thinks he’s likely bunkered down with a groupie. Encouraged to let it go and enjoy the evening, Phyllis is moved along by her kids – but pauses to wish Traci and Jack a Happy New Year (while pointedly ignoring Diane)
Warren tells Tessa that he put his number down on her pad. She’ll call if there’s any cancellations. He pauses on his way out to watch her drink from her water bottle.
Tessa interrupts the newlyweds to ask Abby to watch the front door for a minute – she’s feeling light-headed so is going to the kitchen to have a snack.
Claire’s at the stables when Nick and Faith stop by the ranch. Victor and Nikki are told that there’s new developments in the case that could be a game-changer.
When Daniel can’t help but say how he’s really doing, Phyllis makes one more quick negative comment before stopping herself and taking his and Summer’s hand.
Happy New Year gorgeous, Danny says after covering Chris’ eyes. You made it, she’s thrilled.
Nick and Faith give Victor and Nikki a full report of what Sharon remembered under hypnosis, that led to the case being reopened. Both stand to greet Claire with hugs when she returns from the stables.
With his hair freshly dyed just a shade too dark, Daniel’s about to update his Dad when Jack and co. come over to say hello. Danny’s delighted to see Traci looking so happy.
