At Society’s bar, the drinks and spooky Halloween decorations are getting to Daniel as Tessa walks in.

Coming back from trick or treating, Harrison’s sent to wash up. Summer and Kyle enjoyed trick or treating ‘as a family’. Who’d have thought?

Cole and Vikki are pleased that Claire’s joined them for dinner at the club. She’s made a decision about her future.

With Harrison in school and Summer/Kyle getting along, Claire’s chosen not to accept the position as Aria’s nanny – she wants to work with Nikki.

Ordering another drink, Daniel feels like he’s drowning (weird choice of words considering Heather’s cause of death) Looking at a photo of Lucy, Tessa’s glad to hear she was able to enjoy Halloween and even happier when Daniel agrees to have a ‘Sober Up Burrito’.

Summer takes Kyle up on his offer to vent about what poor Daniel’s going through. What chance does he have if Chance won’t even consider Phyllis’ theory that Sharon’s setting him up.

Kyle gives Summer a solid ‘pep talk’; if they can get along, so can Phyllis and Chris. Harrison pauses on the stairs to smile as his Dad hugs his Mom.

Tessa returns from the kitchen with a glass of water for Daniel. He didn’t see any of this coming.

Cole and Vikki want Claire to follow whichever path makes her happy but can’t hide their reservations. You need to know all the facts before deciding.

Remembering how much Heather loved Halloween, Daniel agrees to help Tessa pack up all these ‘monsters’ (decorations)

Choosing a piece of candy he’s allowed before bed, Harrison wishes Claire had come trick or treating – and that his Mom still lived with them. Yes, they can both read him a bedtime story.

Vikki tells Claire that Victor plans to take Chancellor away from Billy; Nikki will run it. It’s a bomb waiting to go off, they wonder if she still wants the job.

Harrison asleep, Kyle offers Summer a drink. They toast to more good family nights and better days for both their families. She’s surprised to hear that Jack’s hoping to get an annulment but pleased that father and son are getting along better. No, he doesn’t expect to be rehired at Jabot.

Daniel chokes up as he continues to confide in Tessa. The real monster is the person who killed Heather. Yes, he does feel better now that they’ve packed up all the ‘monsters’ at Society.

Vikki reassures Claire that no one will think less of her if she declines her grandparents job offer.

Claire’s been given a lot to think about. With thanks, hugs and ‘I love you’s’, she leaves her parents to worry about her entering the corporate world of Newman.

As Daniel eats his Sober Up Burrito, Tessa tells him that he needs to be there for Lucy. Packing up all the decorations made him feel better and motivated to come up with a plan.

Neither of us were our best selves during their custody issues. To brighter, happier futures for both our families, they toast. Things get awkward when Claire drops by. Sorry, but she’s too late to see Harrison in his costume – we just put him to bed.

After Claire admires photos of Harrison on Kyle’s phone, Summer decides it’s getting late and she needs to go home and do some work before bed. It’s very obvious that Kyle would like her to stay. He practically shoves Claire aside to walk Summer out.

Vikki and Cole are worried about Claire’s decision but can’t very well lock her up in a tower (can we?)

Kyle tells Claire that he and Summer had a good talk and are in a good place. No, Claire’s not upset but feels bad about interrupting. Don’t, he kisses her.

Summer finds Daniel in ‘their spot’ in the park. He loves and trusts Chris but can’t wait for her to find a solution for him. He’s determined to find the real killer himself.

Next Week; Billy confesses to Lily – I’ve been a jerk – here I am asking for forgiveness and a chance to fix things …. I know what you did, Phyllis sing-songs to Sharon. And I have proof. What the hell are you talking about!? Sharon hisses (as Daniel comes in from the patio to watch them) … When Victor removes the blindfold from Nikki’s eyes, her jaw drops in astonishment by whatever’s in front of her.
