In the dining room, a flirty Nate is still ‘bathing in the afterglow’ (ick). Audra’s waiting for Bob Elton to arrive. THE Bob Elton; CEO of one of America’s biggest chain of department stores. He’s been dealing with Kyle but Audra will change that. On cue, Kyle arrives to boast about a meeting he just had – with none other that Bob Elton (yes, THE Bob Elton)
At the house, Billy doesn’t want to hear what Jack has to say – he won’t change his mind on how to handle Abbott Chancellor.
Over breakfast at Society, Victor knows that Vikki offered Billy a buyout – against his wishes.
Jack doesn’t agree with Billy hiring Phyllis – she’s no Lily Winters. Yeah, Billy agrees – she’s had my back instead of stabbing it. Jack tries another tact – he’s concerned that Billy’s moving away from the people who shared Katherine and Jill’s vision. Billy counters with a low blow – Jack’s power-hungry wife.
Vikki went to Billy for the kids sake – they look up to their father and to you. Why does Victor want to make an enemy of her kids father? I warned you not to go against my wishes, Victor questions her loyalties.
Claire comes through the revolving door as Nate stands up as if to fight Kyle but instead, he leaves Audra and Kyle to go at it. Kyle’s three steps ahead of her; so knows about the prototype she’s pitching to Victor. He cancelled her order – good luck showing nothing to Victor, Kyle gloats.
Nate’s joined Claire at the bar to opine that business can be cut throat – blood-sport. Executives have bigger egos than doctors. Claire has regrets and has learned that vendettas don’t end well for anyone involved.
Audra and Kyle argue over Bob Elton. He’ll do whatever it takes to get her out of Glacade.
Vikki wants to avoid an unnecessary power struggle between her father and Billy. Lemme guess – he accepted your offer to avoid humiliating failure, Victor assumes.
Jack shares a story/anecdote of Billy taking a sailboat out and crashing it instead of asking his big brother for help. You’re smarter, you always know best, Billy’s sarcastic. When he mentions Victor, Jack asks what he has to do with this.
Billy’s immediate reaction was to turn Vikki down (but she hopes he’ll change his mind) She and Victor butt heads. Are you willing to leave Newman over this? he asks.
Billy explains why he fired Lily. You’re reacting because Victor’s got you on the defensive already, Jack comments. Billy has someone on the inside – Vikki wants to protect my interests – she offered to buy me out. Jack seems worried about Vikki trying to cut a deal behind her father’s back.
Claire and Nate watch from the bar as Kyle and Audra fight it out. Kyle calms down when they come over. She’s been watching the whole time, Audra asks Claire if this is the first time seeing Kyle ‘work’. After Kyle and Claire exit, Nate asks Audra what all that was about.
Jack and Billy share a common enemy. Protect your relationship with your kids (Jack alludes to his issues with Kyle)
