Summer’s surprised to run into Claire in the park – not surprised that Harrison’s with his Dad (Kyle called her) – surprised that the big gift bag Claire has is for their grandparents.
Picking up coffee and baked goods at CL’s, Nick can’t escape Phyllis (who is waiting for Summer so they can go visit Faith and Lucy)
Still in the ER, Heather updates Daniel that Lucy might be able to go home today – she’ll be fine – we were lucky. We weren’t paying attention, Daniel’s emotional.
At the house for a bag of clothes for Faith, Mariah wonders who Sharon was just talking to.
You can always lean on me, Phyllis encourages Nick – then seems surprised that he might be blaming Daniel and Lucy for this.
Lucy screwed up, Heather admits – but her own conscience is clear. Daniel understands why Sharon’s upset with him given their history.
No, Sharon wasn’t warning someone to leave her alone – she was venting alone so she doesn’t subject her family to her ‘hysterics’. We all have those moments, Mariah gets it. Yes, Faith will be fine, she has to be, Sharon agrees – as she glares at Cameron.
Perched on a parch bench, Claire and Summer toggle between awkwardness and smiles over Harrison. Claire’s gift for their grandparents? A framed Newman Family Tree; she’s officially changed her name.
Nick doesn’t blame Daniel, Heather of Lucy – but it’s hard not to ‘go there’. Phyllis hopes this doesn’t push the ‘already struggling’ Sharon over the edge.
Sharon snaps on the well-meaning Mariah. Maybe she wouldn’t be thinking about Cassie if everyone wasn’t constantly pointing out the similarities. Sorry, she apologises. Encouraged to scream and yell, she won’t in case she never stops. Cameron silences Sharon – it’s best no one knows how angry you are at Daniel and Lucy.
Back at Memorial, Daniel tells Heather that Sharon looks at him like he’s still the drunk teenager Cassie tried to drive home. Could YOU forgive that? Cassie’s gone! Heather can’t stop Sharon from blaming Daniel, but he has to stop blaming himself.
Sharon’s mad at the world, at herself for not being able to control ‘this brain of mine’. You’re being too tough on yourself, Mariah annoys Cameron. Oh my God, do they ever leave you alone? These people are starting to get in our way?
Nick’s not in the mood to hear Phyllis ‘bag’ on Sharon. Of COURSE he’s worried about her. Phyllis is too – I have sympathy for her. She’s not getting any better but the doctors are sorting her meds out. Phyllis doesn’t think she’s lying but there’s something she’s not dealing with.
Sharon sends Mariah ahead – I’ll meet you at the hospital. Cameron applauds her A+ performance. You could get rid of me but you need me to feed your anger so you can do what needs to be done.
