Harrison outside playing with his building blocks, Claire’s happy to see Kyle smiling. He’s optimistic that he and Summer can resolve custody themselves. Claire’s impressed with both Kyle and Summer. He has a favour to ask – join me for dinner.
We have to get back into Kyle’s good graces (in order to help him) Diane reasons. If Victor’s involved, Jack’s determined to help Kyle whether he wants it or not.
Jack and Diane must find an indirect route to get information. What would Victor do? Jack hates to stoop to Victor’s level but if moral compromise is what’s needed to save her son, Diane’s willing to make the sacrifice.
Dinner tonight? Claire had planned to catch up on her shows and play a board game with Katie and Johnny. But hearing that Kyle wants a second opinion on the houses his realtor sent him, she jumps at the chance. Claire’s addicted to looking up real estate listings online. So, that’s a yes for dinner? Yes! You came to the perfect person for this!
Jack and Diane decide to got to Society for dinner – the perfect escape.
Victor rejoins the ladies to relay that Billy’s waiting for Lily in the lounge. Nikki reports dutifully; Lily thinks of Kay as family – there’s no way she’d leave Chancellor for Winters. She and Billy aren’t seeing eye to eye. It’s a power struggle Lily has no intention of losing.
Billy doesn’t want to talk about Victor, or the press release. You lied to lure me here? Lily grumbles – her time is ‘precious’. Billy has a solution for that. Your schedule is about to free up. Your services are no longer needed. I’ll be flying solo at Abbott Chancellor.
At Society, Claire’s smiling about the possibility of Kyle and Summer toning the hostility down. Yes, Harrison’s picking up on the tension. Speaking of parents and tension, Kyle sighs when Jack and Diane arrive.
The tension between Lily and Billy will work in our favour, Victor says. Lily might respect me but she won’t hand her power over to me, Nikki hopes Victor won’t underestimate her. No, Victor respects Lily – but YOU should run Chancellor – period.
I signed a contract, Lily reminds. Billy will pay her off. You’re a liability, Lily points out. That’s rich coming from someone who did prison time, Billy snarls – some people would think a criminal record is a liability. Lily won’t let him get away with this. Get ready for a fight – she will NOT back down!
Eyes boring holes in his menu, Kyle ignores his parents – while Claire chatters happily about Harrison’s crafts. How are things between you and Summer? they ask. It’s gotten better, Kyle’s vague. Did something specific happen to bring about that change? Jack asks. No, Kyle’s just focusing on what really matters.
I chose you over my own brother! The entire corporate world thinks you’re a risk, Lily then asks ‘how can you do this to Jill’? And Katherine? Ask Devon if you can go work at Winters, Billy suggests. Lily won’t let Billy take down Chancellor. ABBOTT Chancellor – and Billy’s stopping HER from taking it down. We’re done, he declares. Lily clip clops out without further word.
All these houses look like the one you’re living in now, Claire tells Kyle. Maybe, deep down, you’d like to stay where you are.
At their nearby table, Jack won’t read anything into Kyle having dinner with Claire. She seems to have a calming effect on him. Jack has an idea to uncover Kyle’s connection to Victor.
Victor sees this as the first step to gain Lily’s trust. Nikki genuinely likes her and is touched that Katherine’s legacy is so important to her. I miss Katherine so much. Both notice Lily flop into a chair and rub her eyes – looks like the chasm between her and Billy is becoming wider as we speak.
