Claire would love to work with Nikki again but it would be hard to leave Harrison. After Vikki lets it slip that Claire might have developed feelings for her boss, Claire’s overwhlemed by her family’s love, generosity and forgiveness – it’s a miracle. Respecting Claire’s decision to stay on as Harrison’s nanny, Nikki says they’re all lucky to have found her.
Phyllis joins Lily at the club’s bar to have a talk; woman to woman – we have a lot to chat about.
Returning to the house to find Jack and Harrison playing Go Fish, Claire’s told all about their afternoon. After sending Harrison up to wash his hands, Jack asks if something’s wrong. There is and Claire’s not sure what to do about it.
Back at Newman, Vikki’s torn – Claire’s never been in a romantic relationship. Neither she nor Nikki approve of her becoming involved with Kyle (for obvious reasons) The only thing she can do is hope Claire doesn’t get her heart broken.
Claire tells Jack that Harrison’s picked up on the tension between Kyle and Summer – he knows his parents don’t like each other very much. It’s no excuse but Kyle went through a lot of childhood trauma, Jack sighs. Claire wishes there was something she could do to help. Maybe Kyle will listen to you, Jack asks her to talk to him.
Phyllis thanks Lily for working things out with Daniel – it’s wonderful that Princess Louisa will pay for Lucy’s college. He didn’t mean to hurt you – women like us persevere. Phyllis isn’t angling for her old job back and detects that Lily’s already regretting her decision to stay and work with Billy.
Running into Billy at Society, Jack’s given the heads up that Chancellor’s being rebranded as Abbott Chancellor.
Claire’s been deprived of affection for most of her life. If she opens her heart to someone, who am I to tell her who that should be? Vikki tells her Mom.
Harrison comes down to find Claire distracted – are you thinking about my Mom and Dad? No. Your parents aren’t mad at you – grown ups have disagreements. Your Mom and Dad love your very much. Claire’s not thinking about anything – now let’s go up and play that game.
Back at the club, Phyllis has advice for Lily – she’s known Billy a long, long time. He’s very charming and convincing – but watch out; behind the witt and charm, he’s only out for himself. Don’t be blinded to who he is. She wonders why Lily wouldn’t be more comfortable working with her family.
The new logo is locked and loaded and looks fantastic, Billy reminds Jack that Abbott Chancellor IS a family company, just not YOUR family company. Jack will always think of Chancellor as Katherine’s company; you should respect her legacy. Billy’s creating a new legacy, so respect that (he finishes his drink)
