When Devon stops by her office, Lily hopes it’s not to call her a traitor. No, he’s there to share good news with his sister – Abby and I are getting married.
Summer’s not upset – I won, Kyle lost. What about Harrison? Phyllis seems concerned for her grandson – then looks at Harrison’s drawing. Claire gave you this? It was obviously calculated to make you feel guilty. Summer doesn’t want HER son to experience fun new things with the nanny he’s known for five minutes. She knows Kyle will retaliate – but how? She doesn’t know him anymore.
Claire tells Kyle that she may have overstepped by telling Summer how excited Harrison is about Paris. Worried about what Summer will pull when he’s away, Kyle wants Claire to keep an eye on her (and him updated)
No, no, Kyle’s not asking Claire to ‘spy’ on Summer. Seeing how uncomfortable she is, he rescinds the request – forget I said anything. When Harrison comes out, it’s time to go for ice cream.
In the park, Summer talks about taking Harrison to Niagara Falls or Yosemite. Maybe Paris, Phyllis adds. Yes, time goes by so quickly, she tears up at missing out on so much time with Daniel. She won’t let that happen to Summer.
Asked about the proposal, Devon relays that it wasn’t very romantic. Lily’s jokes about replacing her falling flat, she gives him a hug. I love you and want you to be happy. Devon knows – he loves her too. Wow, he then picks up the copy of Billy’s new logo – someone’s not wasting any time.
Back at Newman, Vikki needs to know if running Chancellor is something her Mom really wants.
Chancellor’s a different animal, Nikki knows it would be a steep learning curve. This is moving so quickly and there’s Billy and Lily to consider. Would Lily want to stay on in a lesser position. Vikki can relate to that. She believes her Mom’s up to the job – but you have to want it. Nikki does – very badly.
You need binoculars to find the name Chancellor, Devon comments. Billy will keep pushing til he pushes you out the door, he warns. After some more talk about his good news, he’s joined by Billy while waiting for the elevator.
Back in the park, Phyllis suggests Summer take some time off work to be with Harrison while Kyle’s in Paris. Give Claire some time off. Take lots of photos (to show the Judge you’re spending time with Harrison while Kyle’s gallivanting around Paris) Kyle and Claire stop short when arriving with Harrison.
It’s the connection to Katherine (her mentor and inspiration) that makes Nikki want to run Chancellor. If this is what her Mom wants, Vikki won’t warn Billy. She’ll deal with him and the kids ~hug~
‘We don’t work together anymore’; Billy sees no reason to butt heads with Devon and looks forward to the Winters music festival. Don’t expect a VIP ticket, Devon warns him not to cast Lily aside when he’s done with her. ‘You got that, pal’?
We were just talking about you, Phyllis tells Harrison. Summer pretends to be surprised that he’s not going to Paris – what happened? Dad’s going to be too busy – but Claire’s got a lot of fun stuff for us to do here. Mommy does too – we’ll have so much fun while Daddy’s gone. With a ‘Yay!’, Harrison hugs Summer (who gives Kyle a triumphant look over her son’s shoulder)
