Audra wants the power and money – but doesn’t need a mans’ approval. She wants to bring the lesson she learned to Glacade. Looking at the sun set, she sounds almost vulnerable. I use and buy makeup. A man can read a marketing report but I know what it means to look into a mirror and see myself for who she is (not what a man wants her to be) Life can be ugly sometimes – Glacade isn’t about being beautiful for a man but being beautiful for oneself.
Can it wait? Chelsea’s eager to leave. Sally’s trying to be more open and honest with her feelings. Seeing you two be there for each other makes her want to step up her game. When Summer asked her to stay on permanently, Sally also thought that Summer was going to ask her to take Chelsea’s place. I’d never do that! Sally wants to support Chelsea without feeling threatened. You’ve done nothing at all to make me feel that way. You didn’t have to pitch me as your replacement to Summer – I owe you. No, you really don’t! Chelsea couldn’t be more uncomfortable.
Adam can make it happen; make Newman Media appear fair and balanced. But, it seems too reasonable. Victor IS reasonable. Newman Media is your baby. The target is Jabot. Adam gets it now – Nikki would never go after Jack. And, I respect him. Victor doesn’t give a damn about how Adam feels about Jack. You’ve never hesitated in going for the kill (like your father) even against someone you like.
You’re like me – you get that you can’t be soft to survive. Adam’s not afraid to fight dirty but if I hurt Jabot, I hurt Jack. Victor doesn’t give a damn about Jack Abbot – he’s offering Adam complete autonomy. Can I trust you? Are you sure you can trust Kyle and Audra? Adam asks.
The armour’s already back on – but Nate saw a bit more of Audra than she meant to show. The more he sees of her, the more beautiful she is to him.
Back at Society, Sally asks if the videochat with Connor didn’t go well – what’s this awkwardness between us? If it’s not work, what is it? It’s almost like you feel guilty. Yes, Chelsea feels guilty about walking away from Marchetti (she flashes back to sleeping with Adam) You’re tearing up, Sally notices. Please tell me what it is.
Chelsea stammers… I… Interrupting, Sally gets it – you’re a mess with everything that’s going on with Connor. Chelsea doesn’t feel in control of any aspect of her life – what she says, what she does. Sally feels selfish in feeling she might lose Adam – his heart’s so broken she wonders if there’s a piece left for her. She’s so glad Adam has Chelsea. When we lost our baby, it bonded us. Connor’s your baby – of course it will bring you closer. You can help Adam in ways I can’t imagine. ON the verge of a panic attack, Chelsea can’t talk about this anymore. Sorry, just know that Adam loves you – stand by him no matter what – I have to go! she bolts.
Audra’s ambitious and savvy – she turned Tucker’s board against him. Adam doesn’t find that reassuring (re: trust) And Kyle? He had a huge falling out with his parents, Victor explains that Jack and Diane have no faith in his talents. He wants to prove himself. By crippling Jabot, Adam interjects. No, by crippling all the competition, Victor leaves Adam to sleep on it.
In her suite, Audra makes it clear that this is just a hook up – she’s getting out of her head and listening to her body (as Nate recommended) This is just for fun – it means nothing. Nate seems OK with that.
Next Week: A trip for two to Paris. You really have lost your mind, Summer scowls at Kyle… Vikki’s sorry it’s come to this. I’m sure your father’s pleased with himself – he got his way again, Nikki gripes. Let’s hope he doesn’t live to regret it, Vikki adds. Let’s hope we don’t ALL live to regret it, Nikki corrects…. Sharon awakens from a nap on her sofa. Her living room is in disarray. what’s happening to me!? she gasps in fear.
My Thoughts: Doesn’t Summer have a board she needs to get approval from before launching a new brand? Does Jack know? I vaguely recall Jabot owning Marchetti – that’s why Jack had the authority to fire Kyle and leave Summer to run the company (no?) I guess only Chancellor Winters and Glacade have active board members… Sooo… Audra and Nate stopped somewhere for tea, he carried two cups through the park before doing an infomercial on Oolong tea (which, according to the Google machine, is a thing) Didn’t she hear what he ordered when he ordered it? Or ask along the way? Maybe if she put her giant tablet in her purse, she could carry her own damn cup of tea. Nice speech Audra – but any woman who believes her beauty is what she sees in the mirror is going to one day be extremely disappointed…. Should Victor be throwing the phrase ‘going for the kill’ at Adam? Who’s killed at least two people (the man in Kansas and Delia) … Back to Audra, she should stop whining – every problem she listed will no doubt be resolved by passing the increased expense on to Glacade’s customers – which is pretty selfish considering her (and Kyle’s) salary, Glacade’s unnecessary penthouse offices, her living in a suite at the club in which she dines daily. But, go ahead, charge Glacade’s customers more so you never have to wear the same outfit twice (even though your hotel suite closet is a wardrobe/bureau) But yes, by all means, stop the ‘cheap knock-offs’ – as if women wouldn’t buy the real thing if they could afford it. Ugh, rich people can be so annoying. Speaking of annoying – online ads are annoying.
