On the phone postponing her meetings, Sharon lets Nick in (loaded with all Faith’s fave treats) Turns out she’s paying them a surprise visit before going to Europe with friends.
There she is! Nick and Sharon take turns hugging Faith; who makes brief mention of Cameron before bursting into tears in her Mom’s arms.
Why are men such jerks? Faith asks. Moses broke up with her – he wants to date other people because they got together so young. No – she’ll never fall in love again. Faith wonders how her parents are still friends after the hell they put each other through. Sharon sings Nick’s praises – back in the day, he was so romantic. And, here’s some flashbacks to prove it.
Good thing Mariah and Tessa left Aria with the sitter. Now they can hear a rendering of the greatest love story ever told. Once upon a time….
OK – if this is going to be one of these episodes that looks back more than it pushes the storyline forward, I’m gonna be a lot less wordy. I’m old enough to remember all this; not old enough that I’ve forgotten.
First, there’s the Matt Clark debacle which put Nick in prison with Larry Wharton…. Next obstacle was former stripper Nikki telling Nick that Sharon’s not a ‘proper young lady’…. Noah …. Cassie (from Nick’s ‘aw, hell no’ to winning him over)
Now the sad chapter; Nick butting heads with his Father … Then, the cheating and divorce … Losing Cassie (OK, long time readers know why I had to fast forward here)
After Tessa and Mariah are summoned home by the sitter, Nick tells Faith that though her and Moses may drift apart, he might realize that she’s his center (as Sharon is obviously his)
Nick and Sharon have found the right balance; Faith and Noah are their center. Group hug.
Nick goes to the main house for some flashbacks with his sister and parents. He sits them down to say how much he loves being their son. He likes to think he’s learned from his mistakes. He couldn’t ask for better role models. They couldn’t ask for a better son.
Nest Week; Lily tells Devon and Nate that the constant infighting has stopped CW from going forward. She and Billy have come up with an answer. This I have to hear, Maime appears… Victor hopes Kyle’s considering it – he’s wasting his time at Jabot. Kyle agrees it might be time to make a change
My Thoughts: Sharon might be aging beautifully – but Nick. Good Lord, he’s way better looking now than then. He’s really grown into his eyebrows…. Sharon’s lived in that little cottage for a long time and redecorated it, never.
