Unless Summer changes her mind, Claire can’t accept the job. Kyle asks her to reconsider – Harrison needs you.
You look stunning, Nate’s wowed when Audra arrives at Society. Clinking wine glasses, they agree to discuss ‘good company’ instead of business.
Agreeing not to involve Tucker, Lily and Devon receive a delivery of flowers/balloon. Billy’s card states ‘I hear your plan to box me out didn’t work – I look forward to working with you both’. Not caring that they went behind Billy’s back, Devon pops the helium balloon.
Devon and Lily gripe about Jill and Billy – and Abby’s vote. Do you regret putting her on the board? Lily wonders.
Having enjoyed their dinner, Nate and Audra’s discussion about their backgrounds is interrupted when Tucker arrives. ‘I’m busy’ Audra makes a point of asking Nate to accompany her back to the GCAC. Tucker’s left to pout alone.
Claire turns up at Summer’s suite in hopes of discussing why she declined Kyle’s job offer. Summer’s going to need a drink for this chat.
Diane comes home to blast Kyle for humiliating her by derailing her meeting with Foley. He pulled off an ‘impressive coup’ and saved his Mother from a boring meeting. She doesn’t need saving from a business meeting – ‘I need saving from YOU’!
Invited to say her ‘piece’ in the jazz lounge, Claire explains to Summer how much she’d like to accept Kyle’s offer – but only with Summer’s approval.
At Society, Tucker could really use Sally’s advice. Have I blown it? He admits to being jealous of Nate. Don’t read too much into this dinner, Sally tells Tucker – but if you don’t want to lose Audra get your act together.
Sorry they had to cut their evening short, Audra’s ready to let Tucker go – and since she and Nate came back to the club for a nightcap, how about we go upstairs? she invites.
Back at CW, Devon wishes he’d talked to Abby before the vote; he addressed her talking to Daniel about it. Full disclosure, Lily wants to find middle ground with him. As for the Billy situation, Devon suggests they kill the merger and leave Chancellor.
Diane’s not ‘overreacting’; she’s PISSED that Kyle went behind her back. You can take credit for the deal when Dad comes home, he further infuriates her. Diane doesn’t want credit – she wants to know why Kyle’s sabotaging her. Foley came to me – he didn’t think you had the chops to make this deal, Kyle’s unapologetic.
Summer wants her son to feel safe, but no, she won’t change her mind. When her actions against the family are listed, Claire insists she’s a different person now; not a threat to anyone. Sorry, but Summer doesn’t believe that.
Lily kinda regrets merging the companies – how do we fix this? Split the company in two – we run Winters, Billy can have CW, Devon’s ready to force his hand. We may not have to if we have the right incentive, Lily hints of having a plan.
In her suite, Audra serves Nate Tucker’s expensive scotch (this is much better than pouring it down the drain in spite) As they agree not to discuss Tucker he comes knocking.
Confiding Billy’s ‘ridiculous’ idea that she run the company with him, Lily suggests she goes along on the condition that they split the companies. Then, she’ll leave Jill and Billy to their own devices and join Hamilton Winters. Perhaps we should offer Maime a position, she chuckles (since it was he plan) Devon’s not sure about that one.
Diane DOES have experience; more than Kyle, plus she has Jack’s support. This is all about power, Kyle accuses. Diane ends the conversation by ordering him not to finalize the Foley deal – consider that a direct order from your superior! Kyle’s left to make a call to ‘Marjorie’ – the Foley deal’s done – please draw up the paperwork.
What’s he doing here? Tucker asks. Nate gloats that he was invited – how about you? Whatever you did was the last straw – Audra wants nothing to do with you, he adds – walk away with what’s left of your dignity. The door slammed in his face, Tucker agonizes in the hallway while Audra and Nate clink glasses inside.
