To live with Claire IS Vikki’s dream – but she can’t help but think of the home she just lost; the only home her kids have ever known. Claire would love to hear all about her Mom’s beautiful home.
Reason #1 Nikki doesn’t want to leave town – Jordan will have won. Reason #2 Jordan might go after Claire. Nikki shares her plan with Victor – we’ll throw such a spectacular anniversary party that Jordan won’t be able to resist coming (and being caught by security)
Summer’s brought Chance to a suite at the club to give him a 30 second massage before it’s sex-time.
Arms folded and brow furrowed, Victor listens to Nikki’s pitch. She wants to be in control of her life and sobriety – to be part of bringing Jordan down. We won’t even see her; she’ll be apprehended while we’re celebrating with family and friends.
Audra doesn’t want to argue with Ashley – none of what you said made sense. If this is for real…. Ashley claims to have had a couple Martinis without eating – let’s keep this silly conversation to ourselves. On cue, Tucker appears to ask ‘what’s going on’?
Vikki tells Claire that she and Billy fell in love with the cozy, Father Knows Best house – where she burned cookies, played games with the kids, holidays etc. She presents Claire with a key and pick her bedroom. Choosing the one with the bookshelves, Claire’s most treasured possessions are the books Vikki brought to the hospital ~hug~
The reason for this party is to celebrate our 40 years together – Victor doesn’t give a damn if it was ‘off and on’. What could be a better tribute to our love than bringing Jordan down? Nikki implores.
You were right – something’s definitely off, Audra tells Tucker that Ashley’s making no sense. Chuckling at the ‘drama queen’, Ashley repeats the lie that she drank on an empty stomach. Your girlfriend’s blowing everything out of proportion. When Tucker asks if she’s seen anyone yet, Ashley’s touched by how much he cares.
Since there’s no point in talking, Ashley tells Audra to ‘get a sense of humour’ on her way out. No, Audra’s not rattled – for a moment she was afraid for Ashley, and for Tucker (who wants to hear everything)
In bed, Summer and Chance’s chat about their kids leads to Harrison’s need of a nanny. Unfortunately, Summer sighs, the only person he’s responded to isn’t safe to be around – for anyone.
Finally managing to convince Victor, Nikki suspects that he already has something planned. He needs to make a few phone calls – it will be the party to end all parties in more ways than one. Nikki manages a quick drink before Vikki and Claire arrive. Nikki announces that the trip’s postponed so they can focus on the party. What if Jordan sneaks into the party? Vikki worries. That’s exactly what Nikki hopes she does.
If Victor doesn’t think Claire’s a threat maybe she’s not, Chance suggests. A skeptical Summer doesn’t feel she’s safe to be around her son. Agreeing to go downstairs for drinks, she doesn’t want to spend any more time talking about her cousin.
When her Mom insists on setting a trap for Jordan, Vikki stage-whispers to Claire – the Newman family isn’t a normal family. Thinking them smart and strong, Claire’s proud to be part of the Newman family. Victor returns to agree that going to the jazz lounge is a wonderful idea – invite Cole along. After Vikki and Claire go to the tackhouse to change, Victor excuses himself to make a call. Nikki makes a beeline for her purse but resists opening it.
Audra describes that a frantic Ashley kept saying ‘she’ was out to get you; talking about herself in the third person; told me to keep you away from her – that she wanted to hurt you. Then, when you came down she pulled it together. Audra doesn’t believe that Ashley drank too much – and she knows Tucker doesn’t either.
In a suite, Ashley mutters – this has got to stop – gotta keep that kid in line before she ruins everything. She closes her eyes – there are three Ashley’s on three twin beds. Wake up, mean Ashley shouts at the other two. We have to get something straight you little brat!
