Jack reminds that Tucker asked Ashley to cut ties with her family – it’s outrageous. Ending this marriage was the right move. He never deserved you. He’s trying to make you question your mind. Just take the win, Jack then excuses himself to take Nikki’s call. I’m fine, Ashley lies before dashing out.
Dad accepted Claire into the family, it was a sweet moment (though Vikki admits he might have just wanted her to cooperate) Cole thinks Claire will be relieved if/when her Aunt’s put back behind bars. If Dad’s plan backfires, Vikki will never forgive him.
Nick would like more details of Victor’s plan (but gets none) Adam reminds Victor that he offered Sally a job, then pulled the rug out from under her. Her little company has already failed? Victor mocks with arms folded.
Sally’s company hasn’t failed it’s plateaued, Adam claims. Victor questions the hold this woman has over both his sons; professionally and personally. Adam just wants his Dad to give her a chance. Sally won’t fail.
In the back seat as she’s chauffeured through the ‘burbs’, Ashley hears from Jack – where did you go? Are you OK? Ashley’s fine – she just had to go out and clear her head for a bit.
Lauren thanks Jack for bringing lunch out to the ranch then tattles that Nikki likely wanted to go out to sneak a drink. You did the right thing, but Jack thinks he should have lunch alone with Nikki (who has his ‘full attention’, despite family stuff he has going on)
Duty calls, Lauren leaves Jack and Nikki to have their lunch. Lauren thought I wanted to have a drink, Nikki explains that Jordan’s calls have her on edge. You called her back? Jack’s alarmed. Just knowing that Jordan’s out there is making Nikki crazy. Her last words were ‘you’ll never see me coming’.
Back at the club, Vikki thanks Cole for being kind and supportive. He might be strong on the outside but inside he’s shaken up. Claire is the first thing he thinks about when he wakes up. Vikki knows he’d be the best father ever. You dropped everything to come to the lake house. You got on a plane and flew straight to Oregon, she’s appreciative.
Adam’s sure Sally’s design business would be profitable for Newman. Victor dismisses Adam to have a private word wi
th Nick – what does he think? He’d like to see Sally succeed and is fine seeing Adam working with Sally. It might keep Adam happy and on his best behaviour; which is best for Newman. Plus, Sally’s a good bet – it’s win win.
In the hallway, Adam calls to invite Sally out for dinner – I might have a surprise for you. But, when Nick summons his brother back into the office, Victor refuses to work with Sally Spectra – his answer is no. After their Dad leaves for a meeting, Nick’s not surprised – he told Adam it was a long shot. Adam thanks Nick for putting in a good word. Dad’s testing m;, Adam has no intention of letting it go.
Ashley reads a text from Traci – I’m at home if you want to talk. When the car she’s riding in is hit (gently) from behind, she flashes back to a car accident she was in (maybe) years ago.
Jordan told you that to keep you on edge. Victor and his security team will see her before she gets to you, Jack reassures. You couldn’t be in safer hands. Drinking makes you an easier target. Don’t drink to ease your nerves. Jordan’s waiting for you to get sloppy. Nikki WILL be strong, she won’t stumble again. This time, her life could depend on it.
Back at The Empty Glass, Seth’s mopes over his unanswered texts to Nikki as Jordan appears to smile down at him.
