Vikki watches Claire as she tells a pint-sized fellow patient about the Greek goddess Athena. (Because, yes, of course criminally insane patients are allowed to entertain children, unsupervised, in their rooms)
Adam and Nick have both been summoned to Newman’s CEO office. They then get a text. Victor’s been unavoidably detained – be there when I can. Well, that doesn’t sound good, the boys surmise.
Ending his call when Nikki comes downstairs for coffee, Victor denies he was talking about her – he was talking about Jordan.
Victor’s security team has determined that the fire was caused by arson – the dead have been identified; 6 inmates are unaccounted for. Nikki’s sure Jordan’s one of them but protests when Victor insists she work from home. All the alcohol has been removed from the house, Victor says as he leaves for the office.
Claire welcomes Vikki into her room to meet her young friend, Nadia. How did they meet? Nadia heard she had a book on Greek mythology (that Vikki brought her) After a nurse takes Nadia out, Vikki comments on how good Claire is with kids. I’m so proud of you.
Claire enjoys the kids – they’re a good distraction; the best therapy. Is there any news about Jordan? Vikki doesn’t want Claire to think about her – let her be nothing but a distant memory, and one day, no memory at all.
At CL’s, Sally tells Chloe that their business is in trouble. We could lose it all.
Adam’s about to run something by Nick when Victor arrives to report the news about the fire – it was arson; Jordan escaped. Mom/Nikki? She’s working at the ranch.
Looking like she’s ready to hit the dance floor, Lauren arrives at the ranch. She’s excited about her new role at Newman Media – bring me up to speed on what Audra was working on. Nikki’s a little hazy when it comes to details. Do you want to talk about it? Do you want to call Jack? How can I help? Lauren asks.
Nikki doesn’t want to fall apart in front of her trusted friend. Horrified to hear that Jordan’s on the loose, Lauren had a similar ordeal with Sheila. Nikki decides to call the unknown number – hello Jordan. I know you’re there. You can’t beat my family. Play your little games – your little songs (my anthem) Your downfall is coming. Claire now knows the truth about you (her Aunt) You have nothing to say to me? You’re weak, a coward. Go ahead – come for me at the ranch, Nikki challenges.
Nick thinks they need to come up with a plan against Jordan. Adam suggests a trap. Nikki suggested that but Victor doesn’t want to use Nikki as bait. Instead, his plan is to use himself as bait. Though Adam and Nick are both ‘in’, Victor declares this a battle he must fight on his own.
