Danny’s been supportive and caring – Phyllis just wants to return the favour. On cue, Danny and Chris arrive. Want to go somewhere else? he spots Phyllis. Not a chance, Chris replies as Phyllis raises a glass at them. Danny looks busted.

The way Tucker recalls it, he yelled and accidentally tipped a wine glass over and may have pushed a chair aside as he left. Are you kidding me? Ashley’s astounded. Is this another one of your games? Tucker denies he’s violent. We’re done – run along to your family, toast my downfall. We won’t be thinking about you at all, Ashley shouts as Tucker leaves – so, I’m the delusional one (?!)

Tossing popcorn at Lucy, Daniel updates her that Lily will be staying with Mattie for a while; he’s going to visit next weekend. That’s wonderful, Heather lies and scowls.

When Lauren admires her bracelet, Chris explains that Danny bought it because she lost a similar one he bought her on their honeymoon. Lauren and Mike announce that they’re are renewing their vows at the stroke of midnight. Phyllis can’t attend – she has a date. With who? Him! All look at Tucker (who obliviously types on his phone)

Are we still on for later? Phyllis asks. Yes, Tucker plays along. He’s really looking forward to it. She’s shocked when he kisses her and proceeds upstairs. Danny congratulates the Baldwins and leaves them to scold Phyllis. She’ll try to be there for their ceremony. We expect to see you, Mike hisses in her ear.

You guys were right, it’s definitely a Christmas movie. Noticing that both are asleep, Heather gets comfy on Daniel’s chest.

At Society, Mike and Lauren admire the decor (which Gloria takes credit for) Kevin presents a bottle of bubbly from Scotty. Fen and Trey can’t attend either but send their love. As Chloe goes to her bouquet, Lauren kisses her husband.

Lauren’s eyes glisten as she declares her love for Mike.

Ashley comes home to loudly wonder where everyone is. Near tears she pours herself a drink. Reading Jack’s text (inciting her to the jazz lounge) she flashes back to Tucker’s violent outburst in Paris.

Lauren thanks Mike for never giving up on her – and not allowing her to give up either.

In his suite, Tucker drinks as he recalls a very different version of what transpired in Paris.

Lauren’s still blathering on.

At the bar, Phyllis surprises herself by texting Tucker – thanks for playing along. No obligation. He speaks into his phone – we can still have that drink if you want. She mulls it over.

Lauren’s still talking …

Awakening to see her Mom curled up in her Dad’s arms. Lucy smiles and covers them with a blanket and snaps a photo. Seconds after she quietly slips out, Daniel and Heather wake up. They kiss.

You’re the love of my life, Lauren loves Mike today, tomorrow, forever. That’s a hard act to follow, Mike has never doubted their love. Phyllis quietly joins the three guests and one random waiter in the background. The rings are exchanged as the countdown begins 4,3,2,1. Happy New Year! Cue the confetti as the Fishers and Phyllis applaud to the tune of Auld Lang Syne.

Next Week: Summer asks Sharon if she’s in love with Chance …. You’ve got your daughter playing matchmaker, a disapproving comments on the way Daniel and Heather look at one another … Victor vows to to Nikki that he’ll never walk away from the love of his life

My Thoughts: Ugh. There was a 4 hour power-out in my town so I wasn’t able to watch the show on time …. I’ll deny saying this – but I actually wouldn’t have minded a flashback of Chris and Danny kissing 30 years ago. But I guess that would have emphasized that they’re no spring chickens (despite Chris’ heavy smokey-eye make up and short dress) Fenmores probably sells self tanner; just sayin’) … Surprising that Chris and Danny couldn’t spare 10 minutes to attend the wedding of the woman who took time out of her day to procure a used robe that may have belonged to Brian Ferry – or may have been off the Salvation Army rack. Oh, and never mind that Mike donated a kidney to Danny! Odd that Lauren’s vows would include a vague reference to her cheating on Mike with Carmine. I can’t think of anything else she’d need forgiveness for (besides her overly long wedding vows) Also, if I recall correctly, the Baldwin’s were married at the beginning of December (2005) not New Year’s Eve – and they didn’t say I do at Society. Nice that Fen and Scotty were mentioned but whatever happened to Mike’s half sister, Eden?
