Vikki and Cole persist – perhaps your Aunt groomed you to go along with Jordan for what she thinks the Newmans did to Eve. If so, there’s a way out for you. Claire finally caves – I was five when my Aunt first told me the truth about my parents.
Devon’s at the ranch to ask Victor about a former employee – why did you fire Nate? He and Lily might rehire him. Victor will tell Devon what he knows.
Over drinks at the club’s bar, Nate complains to Audra. She offers advice – stop playing the martyr. You wanted Vikki to have power again. After Nate recites his story yet again, she tells him to Lean into his behavior, don’t excuse it.
Heather’s very happy that she moved back to GC; it’s home. Her meeting with CW’s legal team went well. Did you think things would be weird between us? he asks. Heather’s thanking him with a hug when Lily walks in.
How sweet, you have your won key, Heather remarks. Lily gives Daniel a set of key for her apartment. Lucy comes out to rave about her room and drag Heather off to her room. That leaves Lily to make it clear that she didn’t appreciate the surprise.
Victor’s sorry to say it but your cousin can’t be trusted; he’s ruthless. Nate claims he was protecting you and your company, Devon’s concerns about what he put his family through elicit a chuckle from Victor. Don’t trust that guy, he wags his finger.
Awakening when the phone goes off, Nikki’s puzzled when hearing music (perhaps a song from her days stripping at the Bijou?) Who is this? she again flashes back to being held captive.
In tears, Claire pours it on thick in describing how abandoned she felt as a child. She was home-schooled then shipped off to boarding school. Aunt Jordan made her tell everyone that her parents died in a car accident. No, she didn’t ask for any proof. Perhaps she wanted to believe the story. Do you believe it still? Cole asks.
Aunt Jordan’s story is all Claire knows – who would make up such a story? Cultivating a child to believe such an evil lie. Vikki knows she’s scared but would she take a DNA test. Don’t you want to know if Cole and I are your parents. Yes – please help me, tears roll down her cheeks.
Nikki comes down to apologize for interrupting Victor and Devon. That man’s a snake, Nikki repeats Victor’s warning – stay away from Nate. Thanking them, Devon leaves.
Daniel explains why Lucy’s moving in early – she makes my house feel like a home. Thanking her for getting Heather an interview at CW, Daniel has doubts when Lily claims she’s ‘happy to help’.
Nate’s indignant, annoyed and about to repeat his spiel one more time. Audra’s not condemning him, she’d have made that play herself. Since CW likely won’t hire him, Audra thinks Nate should join forces with her.
Lily and Devon are family, Nate thinks that must count for something. If not, then he’ll accept Audra’s tempting offer.
Lily’s had a trying day. She had a tense conversation with Nate and isn’t sure she can work with that pompous ass. He’s just accepted Lily’s invitation to go grab a coffee when Heather interrupts – Lucy wants to see you in her room. Daniel leaves Heather to make Lily smirk – don’t worry about me. I won’t step on anyone’s toes.
Claire’s facing serious charges but knows how powerful the Newmans are. She doesn’t want the public defender assigned to her and thought her Aunt would hire a lawyer for. She’s in more trouble than you are – she won’t surface anytime soon. Cole will get Claire a lawyer – after she takes a DNA test. It’s a deal breaker, Vikki adds.
Yes, Nikki would indeed like something from the kitchen, some tea. As soon as Victor’s gone, she pours herself a drink of vodka and gulps it back.
My Thoughts: Why is Nikki having a nap in the middle of the day? Why is she fully clothed? Why aren’t said clothes wrinkled at all? Why does Victor have to make ‘hitting the bottle’ sound so appealing? And, if he’s so concerned about Nikki’s sobriety, why hasn’t he bothered to at least put the booze out of sight? Poor Casey – she’ll never even know how close she came to getting a visit from her sister. But yes, Victor – you’re all about your family, family, family (just not Casey or Abby) Did Nikki leave her mascara at Jordan’s? With Claire apprehended and Jordan on the loose, is there no investigation? Nobody’s questioning the Newmans? Perhaps someone should find the Chief of police (it won’t be hard, he’s probably be at CL’s) … What on earth could Sally possibly have done to Lucy’s room to make it so over-the-top ‘cool’. Why would Daniel give her Sally’s number? Surely, it’s easier to say ‘thanks’ via email. Lily’s right – Nate is a pompous ass, but Daniel’s so dense it hurts. As for Devon, it seems Victor doth protest too much. And, it was extremely disgusting to see him laugh when asked how he could make his family worry about him for no reason. Won’t Abby be surprised to hear what dear old Dad’s been up to. I guess she no longer minds being kept out of the loop.
