Back at the office, Vikki’s frustrated. Are we just supposed to pretend everything’s fine? He’s meeting Adam – who will use Dad’s condition. Stopping her from going to the club, Nate tells Vikki the secret he promised Victor he’d keep. He knows something’s wrong and asked me for help.
Nate doesn’t want secrets between ‘us’ – Victor asked for help and has agreed to go to a discreet facility for a diagnosis. It might take a week. It has to be his call, Nate won’t push Victor. He said he has to talk to Adam before making the decision. Infuriated at the mention of Adam, Vikki storms out.
You need help, Nick tells his Dad that his memory’s failing him and blabs Adam’s plan to have a run in with a doctor who’ll make a diagnosis. Is that true!? Victor glares at Adam.
The adorable Aria perched on an examination table, the doctor is ready to begin the procedure. Mariah and Tessa are nervous/excited.
The doctor explains the procedure and will teach Mariah and Tessa how to put the hearing aids in (and keep them in) Aria plays with a teddy bear as the doctor prepares.
At the elevator, Claire declares herself a people-pleaser to Nate – she wants to be the best assistant Nikki’s ever had but may have overstepped. Nate’s sure it’s fine – Nikki will let you know if you cross the line. Not to be too pushy again, but perhaps we can meet outside of work so you can give me some pointers (on dealing with the Newmans)
Yes, Adam consulted with a doctor. I didn’t want to trick you, I want to help you; to fix whatever’s wrong with you. Enraged, Victor points his finger at Adam – the fact that you tried to trick me tells me everything I need to know!! he bellows. As he’s walking out, Vikki races in to get a dose of Victor’s fury.
Vikki came because she doesn’t trust Adam’s intentions – let’s go back to the office. We’re all going to the office NOW, Victor leads the way.
Aria can hear Tessa sing, then turns towards Mariah when she calls her name. The adorable baby even tugs at her ear as all rejoice.
The Newmans are private, Nate explains – their way can take getting used to; they’re cautious because they’ve dealt with many threats. Nate’s busy now but suggests they get together for coffee soon so that he can teach Claire how to navigate the Newman waters. She’s left wearing her ‘I’m up to something’ face.
At CL’s, Sharon knows that Claire’s order is for Nikki. You’re family, Claire realizes as she runs off to answer her phone – which leaves Sharon looking unsettled. On the patio, Claire answers – Aunt Jordan, I’m making great progress. I thought I’d have more time. Consider it done. I love you too ~click~
Better than a video chat; Tessa and Mariah bring Aria back to CL’s – say hello to your granddaughter. She heard me! Sharon’s thrilled.
In the office, Vikki, Nick and Adam insist that they only want to help their Dad. Summoned by text, Nate’s surprised to find the office full – what’s going on? Nikki appears to wonder the same thing. All right, the time has come – Victor will tell them all the truth.
My Thoughts: If the Newmans are so worried about the news getting out that Victor’s mental health may be declining, perhaps they shouldn’t be talking loudly about it in the middle of the GCAC. Where’s Leanna Love when you need her…. It’s weird seeing a table set for three. There’s no room for anyone to join them. I wonder if the Newans left a tip? … Claire reveals that she’s conspiring with Aunt Jordan? But who is Jordan? The only character named Jordan I can think of is the older friend of Faith’s who was leading her astray for a bit a few years ago. But she can’t be old enough to be Claire’s Aunt. The mention of all the threats the Newmans have faced leaves little doubt that a new one is afoot…. Aria is adorable and Tessa and Mariah have one of the best relationships in GC. They’re also great parents. It’s sad that some would deny Tessa and Mariah the right to marry and/or adopt; that anyone could look at this beautiful little family and see anything but love.
