Getting a text from Nate, Vikki needs to go see him to discuss something. She has a few final words for her Dad – she has no ulterior motive, she just wants everything to be alright. Nikki supports the idea of Victor speaking to a professional. After Vikki leaves, Nikki scolds him to the point that he believes she’d have told Vikki everything if he hadn’t have interrupted – that means I can no longer trust you.
This isn’t random scribbling, it’s a window into Dad’s mind, Adam claims. He’s my Dad too. You probably think this is poetic justice, Nick accuses.
We’ll figure it out without you, Nick believes Adam’s trying to worm his way back in. No, Dad wants family unity – this is the best thing we could do for him, Adam implores – Do you really hate me enough not to do what’s best for our father?
At Society, Vikki updates Nate on what happened at the ranch – there was some tension between him and my Mother. He’ll think about speaking to a professional. Maybe he’s scared about what’s going on in his mind.
Cleaning up, Daniel gripes about his Mom putting Lily in an awkward position – bringing up Heather’s name whenever she could – she’s using it to stir up trouble between us. Lily gives Phyllis the benefit of the doubt. She’s afraid of being judged and she IS being judged, Lily thinks Daniel might be the one who has the problem – YOU’RE the one making this about Heather.
At CL’s, Danny remarks on how happy Daniel and Lily are together. Phyllis doesn’t see it but she’s just making an observation, not meddling. Couples do have second chances that work out, Danny says. Thanks for reminding me – you’re a very positive influence, Phyllis adds.
Back at Society, Vikki struggles with the idea that her Dad’s not in complete control. Nate tattles on Adam – he was sitting at Victor’s desk looking comfortable; like he owned the place.
Nikki denies she was going to tell Vikki that Victor’s faking his mental decline – but reconsider. He’ll stop as soon as he finds out which of kids will betray him. Nick and Vikki are terrified, Nikki scolds.
Adam insists that Dad has to be their top priority. You know what this means, don’t you? I’ll handle it – stay out of it, Nick leaves the jazz lounge.
Daniel wanted to apologize for how his Mother acted. Heather told me she wants to get back together. So what? Lily thinks he’s getting overly wound up. Daniel’s upset because my Mom wants ‘this’ – for Heather to be an issue for us. Then stop making her one, Lily looks worried as Daniel hugs her.
Phyllis and Danny both had a nice evening. She has an early morning tomorrow so should get home. Danny will stay and finish his tea. Good night Danny, she says seductively. On the patio, Danny gives his head a shake. He’s surprised when Chris appears; her eyes glistening.
No, Nate doesn’t believe that Adam was in Victor’s office for some documents. His first response was to protect the company. Vikki’s sure he’ll try to use Victor’s condition against him.
Still in the jazz lounge, Adam calls Dr Skelton. I need to meet you; not about it – it’s for my father.
Nikki continues to lecture Victor – you’re punishing all your children when it’s probably Adam. Nick barges in – Dad, I’m on to you – it’s time to come clean.
