Of course Vikki wants her title back – but what makes you think she and Nate are coming after you? Adam asks. Victor heard some whispering – they’re trying to prove I’ve lost my marbles. Invited to say what he really thinks, Adam believes they might be planning a coup. He smirks to himself when Victor claims that Nick’s coming back to keep an eye on them.
No, Adam’s NOT happy that Nick’s coming back to Newman. He must have his own agenda. Victor explains that Vikki’s bringing him back to keep an eye on him. They think I’m losing it, he gripes. Shame on them – of course Adam will be his father’s ally – I’ve got your back. I knew I could count on you, Victor shakes Adam’s hand.
This is about more than just your Dad, Sharon gives Nick unsolicited (and confusing) advice – deal with your unresolved feelings for Sally.
Sally regrets what she told Adam but can’t un-say it. Chloe warns her that she could lose the best man she’ll ever know (Nick)
Sally’s still in love with Adam, Nick needs to move on. His focus is his Dad and their new business. He’s not sure what to do about funding Sally’s business but agrees that he needs to discuss it with Sally (who he calls – can we meet) Of course – Sally thanks him for calling. Chloe wishes her the best of luck.
In the jazz lounge, Nikki blathers on about Claire. Victor’s distracted – he planted the idea in Adam’s head that Vikki’s planning to oust him. He wonders who’ll make the first move.
IN Nikki’s office, Claire stares at a framed photo of Vikki with her Mom.
Sally goes over to the bar to chat with Adam. He can’t get what she said out of his mind. There’s no future for us. Both turn when Nick arrives. Yes, Sally’s meeting him. The love we had deserves a chance. Rejected, Adam leaves her to tell Nick that they have a lot to discuss. Nick’s there to discuss funding her business. She assumes he’s ‘pulling the plug’.
Downstairs, in the lounge, Nikki knows that Vikki loves her Dad. Trust me – if anyone’s plotting against you, it’s Adam. Trust me – Victor will find out soon enough.
Adam turns the lights on in Victor’s office, pours himself a drink, and sits in the big chair to stare at his Dad’s portrait.
Nick will honour his financial commitment to Sally. He always felt Adam looming over them. You need to figure out what you want. I can’t keep doing this with you.
In her suite, Claire pours herself a glass of wine and flips through print outs of magazine articles on the Newmans.
In the jazz lounge, Nikki looks at Victor (whose back is to her) then sends Vikki a text, summoning her to the ranch.
Adam snoops through the desk drawers and is puzzled by a doodle he finds. What the hells is going on with you, Dad? he asks the portrait.
My Thoughts: Anyone under the age of 50 might as well stop reading now while I indulge myself. Or, does anyone else remember Nair’s catchy 80’s jingle – Who wears short shorts? We wear short shorts. ‘Cause If you dare wear short shorts, Nair for short shorts….. And, as if that’s not enough of an attention-grabber, Sally’s paired her gold lamé shorts shorts with black, high-heeled boots. I’m reminded of an early scene in Pretty Woman, in which ‘Kit’ instructs her hooker-pal, Julia Robert’s to ‘work it, work it’ as she sashayed on over to Richard Gere’s car…. Have I mentioned that I’m disgusted by Victor faking Alzheimer’s? I f so, I must have forgotten – perhaps I have Alzheimer’s too. The last time Victor was ‘losing his marbles’ he cut out paper snowflakes paper – this time it’s doodles. *yawn zzzzz*.
