Maime can’t wait for Jill’s reaction to finding out how wisely she invested the money she paid her to leave town decades ago. What else do you have up your sleeve? ‘Jackie’ whines – but is he’s left wondering when Maime hops up to greet her guests as they arrive.
Jack has to go home to plan his and Diane’s wedding celebration tomorrow. Glad to see the twinkle in his eye, Maime welcomes her next guests. At the bar, Lily relives an argument with Nate (as he arrives with Vikki) Next, it’s Devon and Abby.
Nick hates to admit it but the kiss affected Sally – he doesn’t want to talk about it but thanks Sharon for being so rational; one of the qualities that first attracted him to her.
Back at the GCAC, Sally’s so pissed off about Adam impulsively kissing her that he realizes she’s not talking about Nick’s reaction to the kiss, but her own reaction.
Sally insists there is no ‘us’ – stay away from Nick and me, she orders Adam. Yes, she told Nick about the kiss. Don’t make it into more than it is! she shrieks – for the love of God, stay out of my life and my head, she stomps upstairs.
Maime chokes up as she addresses her beautiful family. Aware of the animosity between them, she’s in town to whip them into the powerhouse the family once was and will be again.
Flashing back to her confession in the park, Sally calls Nick. At first, he has no time to talk because he’s working with Sharon (who always keeps him grounded) He then changes his mind – we do need to talk. I’m on my way. Sharon comes out of the kitchen to give Nick a look of pity.
Maime’s announcement, that she purchased a substantial investment in Chancellor-Winters from a secret investor, doesn’t surprise anyone. But her hopes to lure Nate away from Newman does.
Coming through the revolving door, Nick spots Adam at the bar (which leads to yet another flashback of the argument in the park) He marches over to demand that Adam stay away from him and Sally – my patience has a limit. Adam’s sorry he crossed the line.
Nick heaves a sigh before knocking on Sally’s door. He just saw Adam and warned him that he’s run out of patience. He claims to be sorry but it’s a mind game – I’m at my breaking point – he won’t leave you alone – he just wants me to let my guard down. Sally only cares about the reason she wanted to see Nick – are we OK? That depends – he wants the truth. In tears, Sally leaps into Nick’s arms – I’m falling in love with you.
Adam knows CL’s is closed but he thought he’d stop in and say Hi to Sharon – is there anything I can help you with? Yes – why do you have to mess things up for Nick? Adam admits that he crossed the line but Nick’s fooling himself – Sally still loves me.
Maime hopes they can move past the anger and betrayal to bring Nate back to the family company. Lily’s confused – Maime makes it sound like she’s going to be an integral part of Chancellor Winters – what are your intentions? Jill appears to say that she’s curious about that herself.
