Of course, Jack doesn’t suspect Billy and he wouldn’t put anything past Tucker or Phyllis. He (and others) would have helped her if she really did change. We have to put a stop to Tucker NOW.
Still on the patio, Tucker tells Audra that framing Billy for embezzlement was just a diversion from his real plan. He’s playing chess while they play checkers. Get them to think he’s attacking from over here, while he’s really making moves over there. So what exactly is over there? Audra asks. Something they won’t see coming, Tucker replies.
Phyllis knows she’s let them down – but she also knows what she stands to lose if she doesn’t behave. If Nick and Sharon don’t hire her, she’ll take whatever job Daniel has for her at Omegasphere. Danny’s not convinced but will be very proud of Phyllis if true. Jack arrives to glare at Phyllis as she manages to keep her smile in place. Daniel’s spidey senses tingle.
When Jack asks for a word with Phyllis in private, Danny and Daniel head upstairs to eat. Jack wastes no time accusing Phyllis of exactly what she did (why she did it and for who) He can see it in her eyes. So much for turning your life around, he scoffs.
Billy flashes back to Jack implying that he might be tempted by Ashley and Tucker’s offer to run Jabot. Then to Tucker guessing that he wants to run the company on his own. Then Billy telling Diane that there’s one person who can protect this company – you’re looking at him. When Diane joins Billy, he admits that for a split second, he was tempted by the idea of running Jabot.
Why is this so important to you? Audra asks. The Abbott’s convinced Ashley to back out of our plan, after Tucker had sold everything he had to be with her. The Abbott’s cost him McCall so it seems fitting that he takes everything from them. Audra wonders what he’d do if Ashley came back tomorrow and told him that she loved him and their plan was back on. Would you really abandon this attack and fly off with her without a second thought?
In the lounge, Jack scolds Phyllis for throwing away all her good intentions to hitch her wagon to Tucker. Phyllis doesn’t have to listen to this – you have no clue what I’m doing. She’s tired of being GC’s punching bag. You and everyone else can go to hell.
Upstairs, in the restaurant, Daniel tells his Dad that things are better than good; he’s having fun with Lily. The only conflict in his life is with Mom. Both really want to believe Phyllis but it’s always a leap of faith.
At the bar, Billy claims he’s fine with the way things are. You still think you’re the one who should be running Jabot? (as he told Diane the other day) Billy’s not after Jack’s job right now and hopes Diane’s not after his. We need to get past this so we can deal with worse threats.
Tucker can’t believe or trust Ashley anymore. She showed me who she really is in Paris. Audra doubts she had this planned all along. Tucker whines – she stuck a knife in my heart. Audra believes that Ashley was deeply in love with Tucker – she just found it harder to break away from her family than she thought. You love Ashley too – call off this attack, she implores. Tucker vows that nothing will stop him from taking everything the Abbotts hold dear – NOTHING.
Danny’s got a couple months off from his tour. He’s got some music done for Omegasphere. Any other reason? Daniel presses. Danny would like to see Christine but she’s not answering his texts. Daniel informs that Chris is in Portugal, trying to work things out with Paul. Danny can’t hide his disappointment.
As Diane arrives to hover, Phyllis vows to Jack that she’s not doing anything with Tucker – I despise him. I’m not trying to sabotage you or Billy. Jack might believe that Phyllis is sincere IF she hacks into Tucker’s system and find out what he’s up to.
Seconds after he’s returned to his suite, Tucker finds Billy at his door. I know what you’re up to, he walks in to accuse – you’re trying to set me up for embezzlement. Billy then boasts about having the emails proving what he and Audra covered up. Unless you back off, I’ll use them to crush you, he warns Tucker.
Next Week: Nikki and Audra are interviewing a young woman who’s applying for an assistant job. So, tells us, Nikki asks – who is Claire Grace? …. Hopefully your little meeting with Tucker will dissuade him from coming after us and we won’t need Phyllis at all, Jack tells
Billy. If not – Phyllis might be the weapon we need … It’s been a long time since you and I were friends, Tucker opines – and now, Adam’s made an enemy of him …There’s something else going on underneath all of this and I want to know what the hell it is? Jill confronts Maime in front of Devon and Abby, Vikki and Nate.
