At the GCAC’s bar, Devon excuses himself to take Abby’s call – leaving Audra to assure Tucker that she’s working on his ‘wedding gift’. After she leaves, the groom texts his bride – counting the minutes.
Audra seems annoyed to find Kyle drinking in the jazz lounge (since he took the afternoon off for his Aunt’s wedding) Is something wrong? he asks.
Jack and Diane are ready to go to the wedding. No, he doesn’t believe his sister’s sincere about walking away from Jabot. Tucker’s poisoned her. We have to go and pretend everything’s fine.
Abby finds Traci fussing over the placement of the extra large floral bouquets crowding the room. She’s clearly not as optimistic as her Aunt about this ‘love story’. When Ashley arrives, Traci detects that she’s nervous, then leaves Abby to agree – Mom, you don’t have to go through with this if you’re not ready.
Ashley’s excited about her future with Tucker – I love him. Not convinced, Abby doesn’t want her Mom to get hurt. Both would kill Tucker if he did ~hug~
Devon sits in awkward silence as Victor perches on a bar stool to insult Tucker. He believes Ashley’s only marrying the third-rate con artist to get back at Jack and Diane.
Audra can’t tell Kyle what’s wrong – there’s things about her she’d rather he didn’t know. She’s tempted but knowledge is power – so, let’s go upstairs.
If Ashley leaves Jabot, we can call off Billy’s charade – it’s a lot to ask of him and there’ll be nothing to fight over, Diane suggests. Jack disagrees – we need Billy on our side now more than ever.
At CL’s, Chelsea’s a bit nervous about going to the wedding. Billy expresses doubts about pretending to be mad at Jack and Diane to get Ashley to trust him – turns out the joke might be on me.
Explaining that he was offered the job of running Jabot, Billy sounds guilty – he should have told Ashley ‘go to hell’ but he’s tempted to accept, no matter who he hurts.
Diane just wishes this was over. Jack has something up his sleeve that might speed their plan along. Traci comes home to say that Ashley’s nervous. But who knows? Maybe this is her time. Jack and Diane roll their eyes.
In a bedroom upstairs, Abby tells her Mom that Harrison’s sad he can’t be ring bearer because he has the ‘sniffles’. Is this truce with Uncle Jack/this wedding real? Both are, Ashley insists.
Assuring Devon that he can safely go answer his phone, Tucker’s amazed that Victor knows he and Ashley bought a company in Europe. She won’t sever ties with Jabot – she’s taking it from Jack – maybe she’s taking you along for the ride. You might be right, or wrong, Tucker has a wedding to get to.
