In the club’s restaurant, Ashley and Tucker debate whether Billy’s really on their side. Arriving at the bar, Billy pretends to hesitate when Ashley invites him to join them.
At CL’s, Summer agrees to join Chance on his picnic – though she hasn’t really been eating much lately.
Picnicking in the park, Summer tells Chance that Kyle’s gone on a business trip with Audra. They’re together at work and out – like she and Kyle were. Chance gives another one of his pep talks. He had to grieve the future he wouldn’t have with Abby and Don before being able to move on.
Diane wishes they could do something to fix things between Kyle and Summer. Jack doubts this fling with Audra will last.
Tucker leaves Ashley to ask Billy if he reached out to Jack after last night. No, avoided them at all cost, couldn’t sleep – so came to the club for a work out. Billy agrees that Diane will be after his job. Jack’s letting it happen. How do we talk sense into them? Billy fishes. Ashley doubts they can but she does have an idea – how far are you willing to go?
Chance encourages Summer – accepting that there’ll be no reconciliation with Kyle is the first step. Jumping up to point out a male finch, he explains the he got his bird badge in Scouts. Summer’s telling him about a similar girls program she was in when Sharon appears. I thought you had a meeting, Chance jumps up. Sharon felt bad so pushed her meeting back with Adam. Seems that Summer’s taken my place, she states to awkward silence.
At the estate, Tucker again thanks Devon for his support. Abby and I are happy for you, Devon adds that Abby’s mad at her Mom because of what she’s willing to do to take Diane down) Tucker thinks he’s dissuaded Ashley. He and Devon chuckle that he’s the reasonable one in the relationship.
It’s only a matter of time before Diane messes everything up at Jabot. With a little prodding/button-pushing, Ashley’s convinced that Billy can fix everything.
Summer will go – Chance made this beautiful breakfast for you. Sharon invites her to stay – I’m sure Chance made enough food. After Summer heads off to work, Sharon asks how she’s doing. She’ll be fine, she’s strong. Looking glum, Summer pauses briefly to watch Chance sit Sharon down and excitedly unpack the basket.
Devon confesses that he and Abby thought Tucker was the one pushing Ashley to go to war with Jack. Abby now thinks its her Mom’s doing. Tucker downplays it – Ashley just wants to protect her brother and the company. Devon suggests Ashley make that clear to Abby. Maybe she hasn’t thought about how a family business feud can go beyond business. Tucker will do whatever he can.
Back at the GCAC, Billy’s blunt – you want me to spy and ‘nudge’ Diane. Maybe a ‘gentle push’ until Diane shows her true agenda. When Jabot falters, we’ll acquire it and save our father’s company – you and I. It’s for the good of Jabot, our father’s legacy. Billy pretends to look conflicted – he’ll have to think about it.
Summer returns to the office to show Jack the press release of Chelsea’s hiring. No, she’s not alright – but she will be. Beginning to accept that Kyle’s moved on, Summer will too.
Sharon thinks it nice that Chance is being a friend to Summer. Yeah, he can relate to what she’s going through – but enough about Summer – he wants to focus on Sharon. Seeing you is the best part of my day too, she won’t let business get in the way of what matters most ~kiss~
Tucker rejoins Ashley at the club to hear that Billy’s leaning towards helping them save Jabot (and maybe Jack,if it’s not too late) Tucker has urgent matters to discuss – Ashley needs to make things right with Abby – we can’t let this come between you.
Billy updates Diane and Jack that Ashley wants him to be her Trojan horse; to push Diane into being greedy and controlling so Jack will see her for who she is. The master plan is to allow Diane to damage Jabot with her ambitions and bad decisions. Billy’s role is to let it happen but not beyond the point that it harms Jabot’s reputation. Ashley and Tucker will then swoop in to swallow up Jabot. It’s a power play if I’ve ever seen one. Diane thinks it good that they trust Billy – we just need to figure out a way to use that to our advantage.
My Thoughts: ‘Of course’ Summer thinks she’ll be part of Harrison’s life? But why? Kyle chose to leave Harrison with his nanny instead of his Mom. Summer shouldn’t be pouting about Kyle going to NY with Audra, she should have her lawyer file for ‘rights to first refusal’. Meaning, that if Harrison isn’t with his Dad, his ‘Mom’ should be given the option to spend time with him before a babysitter or family member is asked…. Uh Devon – This ain’t Ashley’s first rodeo. She already knows better than anyone how a business feud becomes a family feud. And if all this sounds familiar, this might ring a bell. On March 29th, 2019, I wrote (typed) “Yes, she (Ashley) owns Premier Cosmetics – but she isn’t trying to take Jabot down – she’s saving it. How? By taking it over.”
