Phyllis takes Diane’s hands across the table – are you for real? Diane doesn’t blame her for being wary. Unable to goad them into a fight, Tucker pounds the table in frustration. Stop wasting time! Tell her how you feel!!!
Tucker now places his hands over Phyllis and Diane’s – wouldn’t you like to punch her in the face? Diane knows he and Ashley would like Phyllis as an ally but she’ll be too busy facing the consequences of her actions. Phyllis thanks Diane for her empathy. You’re welcome. That’s the best you’ve got? Tucker prods Phyllis. Have a great day, she smiles at Diane and leaves. See? Truce, Diane moves to another table.
Ashley just wanted to see her brother and couldn’t very well drop by Jabot to see Billy. I’m not the enemy – Diane is. And, Tucker’s not the one keeping secrets – why is Jack in New York???
Tucker saunters over to Diane’s table. He has to give the first round to Phyllis – she’s going to get off scott-free. You went down hard today without a single punch. Go to hell, Diane’s relieved when Tucker leaves.
At the club, Chris flashes back to confronting Phyllis with the car rental agreement – accusing her of being the one to run over her and Paul. Phyllis thinks Chris should move on. You tried to kill me – say goodbye to life as you know it. Getting a call, Chris assures that she has everything under control. On cue, Phyllis appears.
Billy doesn’t know anything about Jack’s trip to New York. Ashley finds that hard to believe. If you take your patents, Jack will see it as a threat to Jabot; we’ll respond in kind. Nope, Ashley has no warning for Billy (who’s annoyed when Tucker walks in like he owns the place)
Chris ends her call – well, look who’s already out and about. She assures Phyllis that she won’t bend the law – she’ll prosecute this case fairly. And enjoy every minute of it, Phyllis is sure.
Ashley tells Tucker that she got a call from NY – Jack’s meeting with attorney’s – he wants to take legal action because I’m taking what’s mine. Tucker found loopholes in the contracts from when she merged her company with Jabot, but he’d rather talk about their wedding. The sooner the better.
Not the time, Ashley demands details. Tucker relays Diane and Phyllis bonded over being traumatized by Stark. It’s smoke and mirrors. Phyllis is playing it smart – biding her time. Now – let’s make wedding plans. Ashley’s too focused on her battle with Jack. Also, she doesn’t want to use their wedding as a weapon. Marrying me is important to you? he dares to hope.
At Society, Diane flashes back to her fight with Phyllis (in the suite) Why didn’t you stay dead!? You’re terrified of me – and you should be, Phyllis warns… Jack and I are sick to death of you playing the victim, Diane had fired back. I should strangle you to death!! (she shrieked) Diane snaps out of it when Jack sends a text – miss you – home soon. Billy joins her to say that Phyllis’ release is a lot to take in but we have bigger problems. Ashley knows about Jack’s trip to NY. Billy didn’t give anything away and warned her that if she and Tucker strike, they’ll strike back. Soon to be part of the family, Diane vows that no one’s taking their family company without a fight.
Chris followed the evidence when investigating Phyllis’ murder to bring her kids justice. She’ll continue to follow the evidence. I killed Stark in self defense, Phyllis asserts. Carson already lied to the authorities (so lacks credibility) He was terrified – Stark was a monster, Phyllis explains. Chris suspects something else is going on – there’s more to this.
Ashley admits that she may actually be falling in love with Tucker. She doesn’t want to bring them bad karma by trivializing the wedding. We don’t want to mess with the universe. Tucker couldn’t be happier ~kiss~
Chris doesn’t believe for a minute that Phyllis came out of hiding out of the goodness of her heart. Perhaps it’s a guilty conscience. I was in the hands of a madman – he brainwashed me! Phyllis insists. I came back because my kids needed me. She has faith in the justice system. Chris appreciates her doing the right thing – but things are never simple with you. Something feels off – see you in court.
