Vikki didn’t ‘dissolve’ Nick’s support team, she merely reassigned them until Nick’s back. No, Nate doesn’t need them, he’s very hands on. Oh, Nikki has no doubt. Vikki finally admits that Nate’s more committed to Newman than Nick is. She needs a COO who sees McCall/Adam as the threats they are. Nikki finds this move very aggressive and unnecessary. She believes Vikki’s angry because Nick was right about Ashland and deep down you worry he’s right about Nate too.
Sharon blames herself for bringing Cameron into Faith’s life – she’s been scarred. Nick lists everyone who loves them both. You don’t want Cameron’s business, Nick wants to burn the paperwork. Sharon has another idea.
In the park, Audra rambles on to Kyle about her plans for Newman Media – she’ll light Newman up every minute she’s interim CEO. Kyle’s impressed – let’s live in the here and now. If you have something to ask, ask, Audra flirts.
We don’t have time for what Kyle wants to ask Audra. She hands him her phone – put in your number. If I have time I’ll call you. You’ll call, Kyle walks away confidently.
At Society, Victor insists that he and Nikki just want to help him. You and Sally are going through hell. He saw how happy they both were. When Adam reveals his plan to get Newman Media back, Victor wonders if he wants to recapture his glory days with Sally. My boy, Newman Media is part of the Newman portfolio – don’t mess with them.
Sharon thinks there must be some good she can do with Cameron’s company. If she takes control of it she might be able to help people. She wants to make a difference the way Rey did. Maybe the gift of this nightmare is the strength she’s found. It’s time for a new direction, a new future, she tells Nick.
Vikki doesn’t like Ashland’s name always being thrown in her face. Nikki doesn’t approve of her ousting Nick, getting rid of his staff and going after Adam. You have a responsibility to the board and family, young lady. Vikki wishes her family supported her as much as Nate does. On cue, Nate arrives to talk about Babcock. I have work to do, Nikki clip clops out. If you’re not pissing people off, you’re not doing it right, Vikki reassures him. Audra then arrives to discuss NM.
Victor’s advice for Adam is to keep his emotion out of McCall. Adam will run it as he sees fit. Victor threatens to revoke his offer to help Adam. I’m not your enemy, I’m the biggest supporter you have – don’t mess with it, he warns.
Outside Society, Kyle calls ‘Gerard’ to have flowers sent to Audra; something wild, gorgeous and unique. The card – one over achiever to another – thanks for showing me your moves. Oh, and some diamond earrings.
Vikki and Nate are impressed with Audra’s update. Good work. Her drive and creativity are gold, Nate’s excited for the next phase of Newman and Newman Media. The restructuring will make all the difference. Vikki’s glad that she’ll have Nate at her side to go against Adam.
Nikki hopes he’s not interrupting. No, we were just finishing, Adam leaves Victor to update that he wants to take down Newman Media. Nikki shares the news that Nate’s feeding Vikki’s sense of power – she won’t listen to anyone else. It seems that Vikki and Adam are heading for a collision.
You always manage to surprise me, Nick praises. Sharon feels a sudden shift – from fear to trusting her strength and instincts. Everything changes now.
My Thoughts: Sharon’s place has no smoke detectors? I can’t even put my toaster past 4 without my alarms going off so it’s a bit far-fetched that they’d light a fire in a trash can that’s placed ON TOP OF A TABLE. Never mind that they’re standing 4 feet away from a giant FIREPLACE … Maybe, just maybe, Victor shouldn’t had handed full control of McCall to Adam without retaining any power to rein him in. Of course, Adam wants Newman Media back – it doesn’t look like he has an office until he hijacks his old one. And since Vikki’s tossed him out, will Nick end up working with his brother to save the legacy his father built from the ground up thanks to a ruthless drive to succeed honed from his time in an orphanage blah blah blah …. Sharon’s sudden obsession to help people seems at direct odds with her sudden realization that she has some power. What does Kirsten’s company even make or do? Maybe they should Google it. Sharon should probably check it’s financials before planning to save the world with it. Let’s just hope it doesn’t include a streaming platform!
