Summer joins Mike as he’s eating breakfast at the GCAC. Not getting much info or answers to her questions, she relays the text her Mom sent her, saying she may have found a way out – is it true? Can she come home soon??
Startled by a knock at the door, Sharon’s relieved that it’s just Nick delivering a box that was left for her at the gate. Assuming it’s her shampoo, neither Sharon or Nick notice that the box is marked ‘personal and confidential’ (or the ominous music)
At home, Kyle looks mildly disappointed in himself (maybe) as he flashes back to sex with Audra and he’s a deer in the headlights when Jack appears to ask ‘are you thinking what I am? That what happened yesterday can never happen again?’
After some jokes about Nick’s ‘excellent taste’ in jewelry, Sharon admits that she’s struggling a bit. Nick spoke to Faith – she’s doing OK. His other daughter, however …. He blames Phyllis for ‘blowing up’ Summer’s marriage and isn’t happy that Vikki’s put him on an indefinite leave. Picking up the box, Sharon’s alarmed – this isn’t my shampoo. The box is from an out of state law firm.
What part shouldn’t have happened? Kyle’s relieved that Jack’s talking about the family division. But when his Dad tries to speak on Summer’s behalf, Kyle’s instantly furious. I don’t know who she is except she’s her Mother’s daughter. Kyle can’t trust her anymore. Jack’s stunned to hear that he asked Summer to move out.
Of course, Mike will help Summer’s Mom. He begged Phyllis to turn herself in; told her we love and miss her. She’s afraid because Chris will be the one to prosecute her. Summer can’t believe her Mom did this to her. I might need a lawyer too, she sulks.
Opening the box, Sharon reads a letter from the lawyer representing Cameron’s estate. He was authorized to send her these items in the event of Cameron’s death. Sharon and Nick look horrified but curious.
Jack’s sorry to hear that Kyle and Summer are separating. She betrayed me and would probably still be lying to me if she didn’t get caught. No, Kyle doesn’t see the similarity in them forgiving Diane – there’s no coming back from what Summer’s done.
