This is a family matter, Nate leaves Victor and Nikki to object to Vikki having Nick take a leave of absence – but are OK with him taking ‘personal time off’. What we call it doesn’t matter, Vikki just wants Nick to be able to focus his energy where it belongs right now.
Phyllis will take care of everything. Summer is NOT to find Carson – drop it. Don’t worry about me – go to your husband. I’ll be OK, she ends the call.
Mike reassures Sharon – you did the right thing in going to the authorities. I’m here to help. Sharon can’t have that kind of violence in her life again, or Faith’s. Mike tells Chance that he and Nick think Cameron’s up to something. Sharon’s glad Faith left.
Daniel’s walking into the club when he too gets a video call from his Mom. Phyllis instructs him to protect his sister – before she goes too far.
Sharon wishes she knew what Cameron has planned. Heading out to get a restraining order, Mike gets a call from Summer. Yes, he has some time to meet her (at Society, to talk about her Mom) before Nick’s arraignment. Wait, Nick’s what? Summer’s shocked.
Back at the club, Phyllis (on videochat) tells Daniel that Summer can’t go looking for Carson. Who knows what he’ll do if he finds out his cover’s blown. We don’t want to mess with this guy. Stop her – please! Phyllis won’t tell either of her kids where she is – I’ll keep you safe from now on.
Meeting at Society, Mike downplays Nick’s situation. It’s just a misunderstanding’ don’t worry. Hearing Summer’s plan to find Carson and pay him to say he witnessed Phyllis kill Stark in self defense, Mike lists the laws they’d be breaking. BUT, maybe Carson could testify to Stark being the mastermind. He might have to bring in the ‘big guns’.
Annoyed and wanting to leave work for the day, Vikki’s fine with however her Mom chooses to divvy up Nick’s projects. Nikki observes that she’s agitated – maybe your relationship with Nate is influencing your stance on her brother. If he left Newman, would you give Nate his position?
At Society, Nate updates Audra that Vikki plans to have Nick take a leave of absence. That’ll give him time to show how capable he can be at that level – without Nick breathing down his neck. And it’ll get me one step closer to Newman Media, Audra adds. Victor appears in the background to scowl at them as they happily toast to ‘advancing our plan’ and clink glasses.
Daniel drops by the Abbott house to talk to Kyle – he’s worried about Summer. She’s desperately trying to find a way to help Mom. She might listen to you. Can you forgive and talk to her?
Watching Nate and Audra leave, Victor looks mighty suspicious. He asks Mike why he isn’t at Nick’s arraignment and greets Summer. What’s this about? We need your resources to track the EMT down. You want me to find a criminal to find another criminal. He gripes about Mike leaving his employ to help Diane – against my wishes. Why should I lift a finger for a woman who’s caused so much stress to my granddaughter?
Laughing at a story Chance tells her, Sharon’s smile vanishes as she checks her phone. Faith should have checked in by now to say that she’s OK.
Vikki’s not trying to push Nick out – I love working with him. You didn’t answer my question, Nikki presses. Yes, if Nick left Vikki would consider having Nate take over as COO.
Kyle doesn’t want to talk about this. Summer lying, pretending she didn’t know where Phyllis was, framing my Mom. It’s just too much. Daniel was furious too but she’s stressed out and not thinking straight. She’s like our Mom; she might do something reckless. Kyle still loves Summer but she doesn’t give a damn what I do or say anymore.
Summer appeals to her grandpa. This is my Mom we’re talking about. I love her – and you love me. Mike chimes in by saying that Carson should come back to answer for his crimes. Summer’s not over what her Mom did but I want her back home. Unable to say no to a pouting Summer, Victor agrees to help her find Carson.
Maybe the flight got delayed, Chance suggests – call her. It went straight to voicemail, Sharon begins to panic. Chance calls Swift (the officer sent to accompany Faith) It too goes straight to voicemail. He then calls to ask if Faith Newman’s on the flight manifest. Ending the call, he tells Sharon that the flight left but Faith wasn’t onboard. Sharon sobs.
