What a lovely surprise, Taylor, I mean Diane, Jeremy answers her call. As Jack and Kyle listen in the background, Diane wants to speak to him in person – in public. Society. Hanging up, Diane doesn’t want Kyle or Jack to follow her – this first meeting will be safe. If he takes the bait we’ll all be involved.
Back at the office, Victor asks Vikki if she’s abandoned her plan to acquire Chancellor Winters. She no longer has Nate to provide inside info and his shares. Have you given up? Would YOU give up? Vikki implies he wouldn’t and neither will she.
At Society’s bar, the conversation starts well. Nick thought Adam did an excellent job at Newman Media. No, there’s no dig coming. Adam wonders where that’s coming from – did something happen? Joking about their controlling Dad, Adam correctly guesses he wants Nick to cut Sally loose.
When Sally returns to claim she’s the picture of health, Chloe’s concerned – do you smell burnt toast? Are you hungover? Wait – is there a possibility you might be … No! Sally snaps – don’t be ridiculous. Popping a mint into her mouth, she wants to get to work.
Adam tells Nick that he’s come to the wrong person to commiserate with (about Dad telling you to drop the woman I proposed to) He’s right – you don’t belong with Sally. You can’t love her the way I do. When it gets to the point that Nick assumes Adam’s going to bring Sharon into it, Adam says – I didn’t have to (and leaves Nick shaking his head)
It’s a stomach bug, no big deal, Sally wants Chloe to focus on their new business.
Summer’s welcomed home with a supportive hug. That was so hard, my Mom hates me, she sighs. Kyle’s harsh – Phyllis is facing the consequences of her own actions. Her trying to make you feel guilty proves we made the right decision.
What a pleasure it is to watch you walk into a room, Jeremy greets Diane at Society. She hopes he feels the same way once he’s heard what she has to say.
Back at her suite, Sally pulls her phone out to check her calendar. When Nick shows up, she seems to have forgotten that they were going out for drinks. She can’t anyway – she’s feeling a bit under the weather. That’s OK, Nick knows just the thing for her.
At the park, Adam’s head is full of his Father’s voice. You’re your own worst enemy, son – you have nothing, NOTHING and it’s your own damn fault.
Victor’s proud of the job Vikki’s doing but take a step back every so often. Your next move will reveal itself in time. You want to go after the big fish, he knows – but don’t allow impatience to lead to foolish decisions, he cautions.
Diane wants to broker a truce. There’s something she could do for Jeremy that would erase her debt; wipe the slate clean. Something I would find desirable? he’s intrigued. Blending into a wall, Jack watches unseen.
