Over dinner, Billy and Lily discuss how Jill might react to the news that he’s leaving CW. She believes in you, and so does Billy. Lily’s mildly worried – when Billy has time on his hand he tends to get in trouble.
Tucker accuses Diane of ruining his plans to make amends with Ashley. Your confession will tear down everything you think you’ve built – bad move.
Pouring another drink, Jack’s caught off-guard by Diane’s confession (though he never fully trusted her) Kyle will be devastated that his Mother lied. Ashley thinks he needs to know – and Diane needs to go.
Abby can’t criticize Devon for wanting a relationship with Tucker. Invited to share his woes, Devon updates that Nate’s no longer his COO. He said I won’t let anyone step into Neil’s territory. Is there any validity to that? Abby asks.
If it’s not true, why do you think it’s bothering you so much? Abby knows that Hamilton Winters is Neil’s legacy – it makes sense that you’d want to hold onto that. Devon admits that’s why he hesitated on the merger – Lily and Amanda encouraged him. Devon also wonders if Nate’s partially right.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll become a world-class couch potato, Billy jokes. You have too much creative energy to sit around all day, Lily will try not to worry about him. Billy pulls her into his arms for a dance/kiss.
Ashley bets there’s more to Diane’s story. Jack makes excuses for Diane – she felt forced to do sketchy things to survive. We need more info before we jump to conclusions. Yes, Ashley still plans to try to get info out of Tucker.
Back at CL’s, Diane explains that she only confessed to Jack because he’s smypathetic. He’ll help me preserve my relationship with Kyle and Harrison. I was the victim, under Jeremy’s thumb, then yours. No will see you as a victim – and Tucker sees her as a liability.
If I’m a liability, we should just part ways, Diane figues. Tucker’s not done with her by a longshot. Getting a text from Ashley (who wants to meet for a drink) Tucker warns Diane that she better hope Jack didn’t tell her – or else.
Nikki wants Diane gone for Summer’s sake. Phyllis has th emisfortune of having daily contact with her. Phyllis appreciates someone finally seeing what she’s sacrificed. She likes her job at Marchetti but wants her life back.
Even if Devon’s holding on to Neil’s memory, Nate’s still responsible for his actions. Glad that she can see that, Abby’s got her arms around Devon when Chance returns to look none too pleased.
Abby jumps up to welcome Chance back. Thanks for keeping her company, Chance whisks his beautiful wife off to the dancefloor. Looking sad, Devon leaves. Seeing him, Abby looks sad too.
Jack’s left alone to drink and flash back to the time a distraught Diane was so grateful for his acceptance that she kissed him.
Taking a seat across from Diane at CL’s, Phyllis asks what was going on with Jack earlier. You’re a vulture who feeds off others’ pain, Diane retorts. Phyllis has gone out of her way to abide by the truce, for the sake of the family and Marchetti. Of course, not convinced, Diane storms out.
When Ashley arrives, Billy hopes she’s not there to meet Tucker (who of course strolls into Society) Once seated, Ashley wants to hear about his connection to Diane – go slowly and from the very beginning.
