Back at Society, Nikki and Phyllis insist they had no part in Talia’s story on Diane. Jack defends her – no one condones what she did. But Diane’s moved on – you two should do the same thing, he grabs his take out and exits.
My Dad went out on a limb for you, Kyle doesn’t know what Adam’s agenda is. Your input is not welcome. You have nothing to offer. You do NOT belong. Adam will just have to prove himself – wouldn’t be the first time. When all are concerned about Tessa, Mariah just needs a few minutes with her.
Lily can’t wait to hear Nate’s PT ideas for TGP and Billy’s off to listen to the podcasts. In the hallway, Nate’s taking Imani’s advice to make a big move while Devon’s away.
Lily’s impressed by Nate’s ideas. Billy agrees – but has someone else to discuss.
Mariah gives Tessa an empowering pep talk. You are a literal rock star. The team watches on the sidelines as Tessa prances and poses for the camera.
Billy lists all the blows Chelsea’s endured. And she’s right – Johnny will find out the truth soon enough. He tells Lily that some of the light’s gone from Chelsea’s eyes.
On the CL’s patio, Chelsea calls her Mom to say she won’t be able to visit (with Connor) Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.
Inside, Imani gushes about how excited Nate is about his job. He said you wanted him to quit. Are you upset that he told me? Imani gloats. Elena assumes that’s what Imani was hoping for. I see what you’re doing and encourage you to stop.
On the CL’s patio, Lauren raves about the fashion shoot, Fenmore’s exclusive on Marchetti and the amazing designer who took over for Chelsea. Eavesdropping, Chelsea’s frown turns upside down when Billy sends her a text inviting her and Connor to join him and Johnny on the rooftop.
Back at Jabot, Diane and Adam find common ground – being haunted by their past. She’s sorry things didn’t go well with Kyle. Phyllis sold her hotel to plot against me, she adds.
Baffled as to who convinced Talia’s editor to kill the stories on Diane, Nikki tells Phyllis that she’s going to LA to speak to Deacon Sharp.
Tessa and Mariah are the last ones in the park. How lucky are we, they kiss.
Putting aside the flirting and little ‘digs’, Elena blasts Imani for what she might cause between Nate and Devon. So, he’s going ahead with the music festival? Imani’s pleased. She has the last word when saying – guess I have more faith in Nate as a businessman than you do.
At the office, Nate’s on the phone. Giving the go-ahead for the music fesitvals, he knows canceling would be expensive. He’s already started on the artists contracts and leased land.
The boys swimming in the pool, Billy hopes Chelsea’s doing better. This helps – she’s taking things one step at a time.
Adam lists his enemies. Diane thinks he has a chance to turn that around – but with Phyllis, she’s an enemy for life.
Chasing Nikki outside, Phyllis has to ask if she’s up to seeing Deacon. Hoping he has enough dirt on Diane fot Talia to write an entire book, Nikki is up to it – this visit is long overdue.
My Thoughts: Where are the make up and hair stylists? Why not have the photoshoot set to Tessa’s music? … What could Lauren possibly see in the park that gives it a ‘fun’ vibe? and why is Tessa wearing a ‘summery’ outfit? Shouldn’t Fenmore’s be working on its Fall line? The unflattering top and shorts looks straight off the Target clearance rack (not that there’s anything wrong with that) And who amongst us hasn’t had to yank bunched up fabric out of our ass…. Nice that Tessa’s backdrop is fake greenery that barely conceals the brick building behind it. I guess we’re supposed to believe that Summer was able to restrict access to the public – in a PUBLIC park? … Great parenting on display. Billy – kids generally aren’t allowed to run around a pool and do cannonballs. And if Conner jumped into the pool as soon as Chelsea turned her back, she should be hauling his ass out for a time out on a lounge chair.
