If Victor orchestrated a cover-up that would be a big story – but Sally knows it would mean the end of her career at Newman Media. She can’t believe that Nick murdered Ashland. He didn’t mean to, Adam quips that he must have inherited their Dad’s boxing skills. He and Vikki did nothing wrong, it was all Victor and the story should reflect that. Sally then gets her long-awaited confirmation that Adam dumped her to protect her job.
Over drinks and apps at Society, Nate whines about Devon. He’s upset because he was looking forward to this chapter in his life. Elena thinks it’s might not be worth it – maybe you should walk away.
Devon leaves when Billy arrives. When Lily asks if he left his audience shedding tears, Billy sighs and squirms.
Chloe approaches Chelsea at CL’s – is everything OK? Chelsea doesn’t have the energy to get into it. I messed up and feel stupid. When Chloe continues to express concern, Chelsea says there’s nothing she or anyone can do to help. I’m my own worst enemy, she says before leaving.
Sally doesn’t even know anymore why she needed to know the truth. It makes no difference. Vengeance always comes first for you. Your only goal is taking Victor down. Thanks for the scoop but the days of me doing what you want are over. I do what I want now, she slams out of her office, leaving Adam to sigh.
You think I should walk away from Chancellor Winters? Nate’s not ready to give up. Where would I go? Back to medicine, Elena disagrees that the door is shut. Nate wants a career at CW. He won’t walk away.
Billy tells Lily that things got awkward and interesting with Chelsea today. We got our wires crossed. She kissed me. I set her straight. Should I be concerned? Lily wonders.
Sally’s made a beeline to Vikki’s office to report that Adam came to her claiming to have evidence against the Newmans that he’d like published. No, Vikki’s not surprised. Adam’s being careless – maybe he’s so wounded that he doesn’t care anymore.
Nick and Victor have ‘tracked’ Adam down at Society. We understand you’ve come across some information. What’s the end game? What do you want? Vic’s CEO chair? That won’t happen, Victor accuses Adam of always managing to be the victim – even when you’re the one making threats. I took a risk protecting your siblings the way I did you in Kansas. Both thought Adam had come to terms with that. Have YOU come to terms with taking a man’s life? Adam asks – at least you aren’t a kid. Those feelings won’t fade away, he warns. Memories, the guilt, the shame comes back. Was it really an accident or did I want to kill that man? That’s what you’ll think the rest of your life, he tells Nick. Maybe I just want justice to be served. Victor warns Adam not to play this dangerous game.
Billy thinks Chelsea just feels a bit lost. It wasn’t a big deal – he hopes Lily feels the same. I’m now your COO 100% – what have I missed? More tension between Devon and Nate. Billy sees Devon’s point, Lily thinks Nate’s idea is good.
Adam and Chelsea run into each other at the park. No words are exchanged – just wounded looks.
Appreciating that Sally came to her, Vikki warns her not to trust anything Adam says from now on. He’s out for revenge. Did you turn down his proposition? If you didn’t shoot down the idea completely, it might be useful, the wheels in Vikki’s head turn.
Next Week; At Society, Talia Morgan? Am I right? The investigative reporter? That depends – who wants to know? ….I don’t need protection, that’s what got us here in the first place. All this talk about protecting me is making me understand Adam, a grumpy Nick vents to Vikki …. Alright, let’s just come clean, Chelsea asks Adam – who wants to go first?
