Vikki tells Billy that Chance is filing his report in the morning. But, there’s more to Ashland’s death, he guesses.

Chance shares his reasons for ending his investigation. The right thing to do? Yeah, for the Newmans, he grumbles.

Victor doesn’t want to talk about Ashland; he’s dead as a doornail and the investigation’s closed. Adam shakes his head. What the hell did you pull this time?

Sworn to secrecy, Billy hears what Victor did. He agrees that it can’t be easy for Chance to close the case – and it can’t be easy for Vikki either. She’s more worried about Nick.

Back at CL’s, Sharon supports Nick – Chance believes you shouldn’t be blamed for Ashland’s death.

Abby’s sorry for forcing ‘family-first’ on Chance. You must be disillusioned with the family and me. Chance believes he made the right decision and hopes Nick and Vikki can move on.

Adam has many questions for Victor – why Nick was so upset when talking to Sharon? What was Chance keeping from Abby? What did Sally know and was told not to publish? Did you cover for Nick or Vikki? How did Ashland really die? How did you convince Chance to look the other way?

Victor confirms Adam’s suspicions – that’s what family does in moments of crisis (unlike you – leaving the company in your former girlfriend’s hands) Adam’s been loyal as hell – you just won’t see it.

Nick was right about Ashland all along, Vikki vows to be his ‘sounding board’. Billy wants to put him in the past. Vikki does too – but when she got to the house, memories came flooding back. She and Billy list all their happy memories in this house, then the bad. Is it insane that Billy’s made her want to toast to the future? No, not insane at all.

Vikki brings out two glasses of wine. ‘To catharsis’, they toast. There’s nothing you can’t conquer; you’re an amazing woman. Billy’s been thinking about making some changes but tonight’s all about you.

Adam reminds that he’s the one who brokered the deal to get rid of Ashland – Vikki taking everything away from him is what pushed him to lash out. I warned her and Nick; Adam has a parting warning for his Dad too; always another shoe out there waiting to drop, he warns his Father before leaving.
