No longer wanting Sally in his life , Adam hates what being with her has cost him – and what it’s turned him into. No wonder my Father didn’t take me seriously. We’re done. Is that clear enough for you? Everyone was right about you, Sally’s livid – you’re a self serving bastard. Go to hell! Adam’s wiping away tears in the hallway when Vikki and Nick come along. I’m done, he claims – Sally’s having a hard time accepting it. she deserves to be here. Sally brushes away tears, assuming Nick and Vikki are there to fire her.
At the Abbott house, Ally tells Noah that there’s a bit of drama going on with Diane and Phyllis. Noah’s not surprised.
You have complicated feelings for Diane, Ashley sees why it’s making Phyllis crazy to see Jack bend over backwards for Diane. She is NOT your friend. Things are never as they seem with her. Spotting Adam stride over to the bar, Jack needs to go see him. Ashley gripes – sure, befriend every pariah in town; forgive everyone except Phyllis.
Jack accosts Adam at the bar. He knows that look – he perfected that look, and he knows what it means.
Still at the bar, Jack brings up the press conference – and Adam’s notable absense. This time there’s no going back, Adam’s adamant.
Sally’s been working night and day, has established a clear mission statement. We’re bringing in fresh new perspective etc. etc. she blathers on (Nick and Vikki listen patiently) This has been one of the greatest opportunities in my life, Sally will miss the view from this office, but let’s get this over with. Nick asks to speak to Vikki outside for a minute.
Ashley joins in as Nikki and Phyllis ridicule Diane. Leaving, she’ll give their love to Kyle, Summer – and Jack. Phyllis, Nikki and Ashley are left to agree that something has to be done about that woman.
Noah describes Phyllis as a force of nature, like a forest fire. She crosses boundaries but means well and would do anything for those she loves. Ally encourages Noah to tell his Dad that he wants to step away from New Hope. Nick’s a good Dad; good Dads want their kids to be happy. Noah rewards her advice with a kiss,
Phyllis, Nikki and Ashley continue – why does this woman get a do over? Diane blackmailed Phyllis – slept with Ashley’s fiance. Nikki wins – she left me to be blamed for her murder. Getting rid of Diane would be a public service. But, can the three of us work together? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, Nikki reminds. If we pooled our talents, maybe we can get Diane out of our lives, forever this time.
Taking Vikki out into the hallway, Nick thinks Sally is exactly who they need to run Newman Media.
Back at Society, Jack warns Adam against revenge towards Victor. Adam has no intention of going against his Father. I’m the last person he needs to worry about ….. And there’s Ashland, looking angry and focused in his cell.
