Diane’s overly sweet when Summer and Phyllis come to the park. Though there’s tension, fake smiles and not-so-subtle digs about who did what to who, Phyllis calls a truce. Diane’s pleased – you just made my day.
Diane knows she deserves people’s rage. You can cross me off the long list of people who want you gone. Phyllis makes it clear that she’s calling a truce for Summer’s sake. I won’t make her choose sides EVER. And with quick goodbyes and forced smiles, Phyllis leaves with Summer.
Victor begins the press conference by praising Vikki’s fine work – then sings Adam’s praises. He graduated Harvard and is right for the job.
Watching the press conference, Vikki notes that Victor didn’t mention Ashland once. Taking over, Adam also starts his speech by giving due credit to his sister. Vikki stops watching when Sally’s introduced; she and Ashland leave their suite.
As Adam’s taking questions from the press, Nick quietly summons Victor into the hallway – I heard from Vikki.
Nick tells his Dad that Vikki and Ashland are meeting investors in New York. Victor’s surprised Nick’s breaking his sisters’ confidence. Neither want Vikki with Ashland.
After watching the press conference, Jack and Kyle gossip about Sally always bouncing back. Diane’s greeted warmly and thanks them for facilitating the meeting with Phyllis – she declared a truce. Kyle can’t take credit – Summer’s given the credit. Getting a message from Summer, Kyle goes to meet her. That leaves Diane to express doubt that this truce with Phyllis will last.
At TGP, Summer tells her Mom that she’s proud of her. Phyllis agrees that she’s wasted a lot of energy hating Diane. She’d do anything for Summer, so gives her word that she’ll co-exist with Diane ~hug~
Diane thinks Phyllis was reigning in her hostility for Summer. She guesses it’s also for Jack’s benefit. She’s using me to try make amends with you.
Meeting Summer at TGP’s bar, Kyle’s impressed with her diplomacy. He hasn’t found a candidate for COO – which reminds him that he’s considering hiring his Mother. What would you think of that?
In Adam’s office, Sally reads comments on their press conference. He gives her a little present. And she bought him something too – his/their favourite Scotch. Now it’s time for sex.
Summer’s sure they could find a spot at Marchetti – but worries about Kyle. They decide to give it a chance.
Jack hopes Diane won’t provoke Phyllis. She won’t kick that hornets nest. On cue, Jack gets a text from Phyllis – she’s back and wants to meet.
Back at their hotel suite, Vikki and Ashland are excited; the meeting went well with the investors. But why not use our own money? You and me taking on the world together, Vikki suggests.
Victor updates Mike and asks him to talk the investors out of funding Vikki and Ashland.
