Ashland’s invited to take a seat to offer his apology. ‘Proceed’, Victor commands. Your daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me. Because of my greed and arrogance, I may have lost her. Not ‘may have’ lost her – you HAVE lost her – she won’t forgive you.
Phyllis tells Summer that Diane’s a horrible woman, but a genius at psychological warfare. You’re pretty good at that yourself, Summer points out. Thank you, Phyllis skip a beat. Diane will exploit any vulnerability. I can’t go through this again, Phyllis is in a panic (thinking that she’ll get to Jack) Summer thinks her Mom is self-sabotaging.
Jack admits to Kyle that he questions Phyllis’ change of heart – could it be because Diane came back into our lives?
Kyle’s torn – he needs time and won’t make this decision lightly, Traci knows her nephew. Agreeing, Diane thinks Kyle would have let her back into his life already if not for his son and wife. Be proud of Kyle whatever he decides. Diane will respect his decision. The Abbotts will too, Traci’s thanked for her time.
Victor thinks Ashland pathetic – Vikki wants nothing to do with you. Ashland lied about the cancer but he did have a crappy childhood (just like you) Victor scoffs – stop comparing yourself to me. He doesn’t agree that Vikki still loves him. Get out of town. This isn’t a threat, it’s a promise. Don’t push me to that point, Victor warns before leaving.
Kyle and Jack have a discussion about Phyllis and Diane. No, Jack doesn’t think Diane’s return is the reason Phyllis spent the night with him. Changing the subject, Kyle’s sorry to say that he’s leaning toward reconnecting with his Mother.
Why does everybody (Summer and Amanda) think I’d be with Jack because of that viper!? Phyllis would never use Jack to get back at Diane – is that what you think of me? Our relationship has nothing to do with her! This is screwing up our Mother-daughter time so Phyllis wants to talk about something else. Here’s news – Vikki dumped Ashland because he lied about having cancer.
At CL’s, Nikki makes some catty remarks to Diane. Told that only Kyle’s opinion matters, Nikki suspects it’s his bank account that matters to Diane.
Phyllis agrees that the way Ashland tricked Vikki is heartless. No, she’s not enjoying this. She and Vikki aren’t friends, but this must be so painful. Summer must protect Harrison from Ashland. It’s a lot, fending him and Diane off at the same time. We’ve got this, Summer’s confident. You don’t know who you’re dealing with, Phyllis worries.
Kyle’s sad for his son, but now he doesn’t have to feel guilty about keeping Ashland away from Harrison. Jack’s not sure he’ll give up – Ashland sees that boy as the one good thing left in his life. Kyle won’t stand for it.
Nikki wants Diane to disappear – this time without framing half the people in town for murder. When Diane looks around, embarrassed, Nikki mocks her – if you had any shame you’d be long gone, instead of hoping you can get to the Abbott fortune through Kyle! He was better off when you were dead! Both deliver hard slaps across the face.
Warned yet again how dangerous Diane is, Summer isn’t underestimating Diane. If anything, SHE’s the one underestimating ME. She doesn’t know what I’m capable of. No way Summer will let that narcissist hurt her little boy. Apparently, Phyllis said something she thinks will make Diane leave town – you can thank me later, if it works.
Just as Kyle’s pitching a Jabot expansion, Traci comes back from her walk to report that Diane’s at the park hoping for another chance encounter. Diane realizes what she’s missed. Jack and Mike have both told Diane to be patient. Jack hopes Kyle doesn’t put her needs before his – she’s an expert at putting the attention on her.
Vikki runs into CL’s to break up the catfight between her Mom and ….. Diane!? Stunned, she doesn’t care to hear Diane praising her business acumen. We have a plane to catch, Vikki drags Nikki out as she’s still spitting insults. And there’s Victor – watching from the patio.
