When Jack comes to her suite, Diane’s surprised to hear that Kyle’s in town. She’s sure he’s been even-handed but assumes Phyllis is trash-talking her. Whatever’s in Kyle’s head is ONLY due to YOU and YOUR actions.
Jack’s every impulse tells him not to trust Diane but he left the decision to Kyle. He wants to hear you out. Diane doesn’t know how to thank Jack; you’re a good and fair person. Just this once, please put Kyle’s needs above your own, Jack implores. Diane has something else to ask – she’d like to meet Kyle at the Abbott house. Jack agrees – only because Kyle will be more comfortable on his home turf.
Sally wants to be completely honest with Adam. Ashland lying about having cancer reserves him a seat in hell – but, there’s a seat reserved for her too. She tells the tale of being so desperate to win Wyatt back that she got sick – he started taking care of me. Turns out it was only stress – but she faked a terminal illness. It’s the most shameful thing I’ve ever done. Did it work? Adam seems amused.
Back at the house, Jack updates that, of course Diane’s thrilled that Kyle’s agreed to meet her. Her expectations are realistic (he hopes) She has a request?! Phyllis huffs. Jack thinks meeting at the house might be best (for Kyle). He asks Jack and Phyllis to keep Harrison out of sight – I don’t want him anywhere near my Mother.
With one last look at her framed family photo, Diane leaves her suite.
Back at Society, Chelsea steals glances at Adam and Sally.
Things didn’t go as planned, Sally admits – I was exposed and reviled. That’s why she left LA. Adam appreciates the honesty and admits that he too faked a medical condition. Glad they can share everything, he’s falling in love with Sally too.
Have fun, Kyle tells Jack and Phyllis (they’ll leave through the back with Harrison and Traci)
About time – you left me hanging long enough! Sally heard crickets when she told Adam that she was falling in love with him. Adam wants to go somewhere he can prove it. Chelsea’s not happy to watch the lovebirds leave the restaurant together.
Kyle answers the door. Mother and son are wordless as they come face to face for the first time in decades.
Next Week: Chance is glad Victor came by – there’s something you need to know (Abby looks mildly puzzled) …. Tessa and I are getting married May 13th, Mariah tells Kyle (at Society) Please say you’ll still be here …. Billy has a question for Vikki – is Ashland Locke still in your life??
My Thoughts; Oh please, Adam. I doubt Locke’s name’s being removed from the building. He didn’t even get a plaque added to the door of the office belonging to Victoria Newman. And ‘letterhead’? I’ve never seen any name on NE’s stationery (likely due to the never-ending game of musical CEO chairs) ….. Kyle doesn’t know how a parent could stay away from their child? Ask Jack – he’s an expert (Keemo) and Phyllis has done a good job of staying away from her son and granddaughter (Daniel and Lucy) …. Chloe can’t be too mad at Chelsea for breaking her confidence, since she broke Kevin’s …. Of course Adam took Sally’s confession in stride – who hasn’t faked an illness in GC? Nikki pretended to be on her deathbed to get Victor to marry her. He admits to faking a health condition but leaves out details – like that he seduced his gay lawyer/friend Rafe Torres while pretending to be blind. Oh, he was also gaslighting Ashley) He might be glad that he and Sally can share ‘everything’ – while only divulging a fraction of his antics… Diane Jenkins returning is the last thing YOU need Victor? Take a moment (and your head out your ass) to think about your granddaughter, Summer and Kyle (who you were once quite fond of; even if only to be a thorn in Jack’s side) No surprise that he barely reacts to the news that Diane faked her death. He’s been declared (or assumed) dead FOUR times.
** Too late to update on Winston. I’ll do better tomorrow!!
