He is impressed and proud (even if it’s costing him a helluva lot of money)

Nikki’s shocked. You agreeing is just a ploy, right??? Ashland’s signing away everything he’s built, Vikki seems conflicted. This is just like Diane, Jack assumes she’ll waste no time pouncing on Kyle. Phyllis found Diane very convincing but no, she puts on a very sincere act. But no, Phylis doesn’t believe it. How can Jack keep Diane away from Kyle before he can talk to him? Phyllis will do that. She’s also protecting her daughter – this is personal to me.
Diane reads business news on her phone. Seems it’s all about the Newmans. Victor’s installed Adam Newman as temporary CEO of Newman Locke. Adam and his COO are a power couple in the making. Nikki’s praised for her charity work (and being a ‘force to be reckoned with’)
Vikki knows she shouldn’t be conflicted, but God help me, I am. She was only able to pull off what her Mom calls a ‘performance of a lifetime’ because she still has feelings for Ashland. Was it all fake this whole time? Yes, he’s a sociopath, Nikki believes he feels nothing. This is not your fault. Vikki bursts into tears – what will she do with all this love she has in her heart. Diane’s second guessing herself to the point of a near panic attack when there’s a knock at the door. Ugh – why can’t Phyllis leave me alone? Opening the door – it’s Jack. What the hell do you think you’re doing?!

Vikki reads a text from her Dad. He signed it all away. The company is safe. You’re free. Ashland comes in – there’s no reason to stay here one minute longer. Are you ready to go? Vikki turns to snarl at Ashland – did you really think I’d run away with you? After eveything you put me through. Did you really believe this wasn’t the absolute end of us!? To say that Ashland is stunned is an understatement.
