Rey confides that he feels like a bit of an outsider when Nick and Sharon are with their kids. Chance understands; he’s not sure he’ll ever feel on par with Abby and Devon. No, Rey doesn’t talk to Sharon about it – he deals with it himself.
Maybe Adam covered his tracks and there’s no proof to be found, Ashland wonders if Vikki will still believe in him if they don’t find proof. He can’t shake the feeling she still doubts his innocence.
Victor’s only focus is getting Ashland out of the company and family. If something goes wrong with Vikki’s plan and the truth comes out (and all hell breaks loose) we may have to ‘pivot on the spot’. When Adam whines about his great new ideas, Victor doesn’t hesitate before giving him the go-ahead.
Nick can’t do much except go home and wait. Vikki wants to handle Ashland without our help, Billy knows she wants her Father’s approval. That’s partly her attraction to Ashland; the power. No, he won’t say that to her – but Billy knows she’ll do anything to earn back her Father’s trust. He reassures Nick that what she won’t do is forgive Ashland.
When Rey and Chance arrive at Society, Chelsea passes him the Blackhawks tickets. Right against the glass! Rey’s impressed. When they go to order dessert, Abby’s left to tell Chance what a great guy Rey is to forgive and befriend the woman who poisoned him.
Of course Vikki believes Ashland and would take his side. Seriously? she doesn’t believe anything Adam says. If she didn’t believe Ashland she’d be cutting him out of her life. How can I prove to you that I’m on your side?
Vikki tells the story of Adam trying to frame her for tampering with their Father’s medicine. She’s sorry she ever let any doubts creep into her mind and blames Adam for making them mistrust each other. Both now agreeing that it’s Adam, Vikki sends Ashland home while she updates her family that they aren’t going to Tuscany.
Chance is also amazed that Rey was able to forgive Chelsea. She’s really turned a corner and doing a good job of co-parenting with Adam, Abby goes on to say that Rey’s a great Father figure; taking Connor; he and Sharon sometimes babysit Christian. Chance relays Rey’s confession that he sometimes feels like an outsider and compares himself to Nick. There’s enough love to go around in this family, Abby gives Chance a quick kiss which leaves him shaking his head.
Nick hasn’t yet left CL’s when Vikki summons him to her office.
An excited Adam’s got a lot more ideas where those came from. Alas, Vikki’s call interrupts. She wants to see her Father and Adam upstairs. Why didn’t she go to Italy? Adam looks unsettled. Moments after they exit the office, Ashland sneaks in.
With everything under control in the kitchen, Abby’s ready to take Chance home. She lists all she has to be grateful for. Chance thinks tomorrow will be a big step forward for him (work) He sees light at the end of the tunnel.
When Adam and Victor arrive, an animated Vikki complains that somehow Dad convinced the pilot not to fly her and Ashland to Tuscany. Nick arrives next to hear the same complaint. Adam’s pissed with a capital P. Vikki will fill them all in when Mom gets there. And where’s Ashland? Vikki’s not sure but has a pretty good idea.
Ashland closes the door to Adam’s office and puts on some latex gloves as he smirks at the tablet Adam left on his desk.
