Wishing he blew things up in Tuscany, Billy’s glad the kids aren’t here. You don’t see what’s in front of you, still thinking I’m the bad one. With the kids not here, we don’t have to interact, Vikki points out. Ashland will let you down and it’ll be a long way to fall, Billy’s warning leaves Vikki looking worried.
Adam feels that he’s working hard to change his life and is worthy of respect. Now, you’re putting me through another test. Victor’s disappointed – I thought we understood each other. You’re showing disrespect, arrogance and hubris, Victor grimaces. I guess we’re finished here, Adam exits his office.
Now home, Billy’s sorry he didn’t bring food for three. No worries, Nate leaves Lily to report the offer she just made him. Billy thinks it’d be an easy choice to come work at Chancellor (vs Newman) We all need to keep our distance from Ashland, Billy relays his run in with him and Vikki. It wasn’t my proudest moment, he admits.
Vikki concludes that some people just stoke anger in Billy. Like Adam – she guesses Ashland’s now on his list as well. Ashland couldn’t care less – but worries what’s on Vikki’s mind. She learned something she thinks he’ll find interesting.
Delivering coffee and a cinnamon roll to Adam’s suite, Sally updates on laying her cards on the table with Vikki. Proud of the way she defends herself, Adam confides why he’s ‘off’ – I may have overplayed my hand with my Father.
Billy replays for Lily; I told Ashland that he didn’t fool me, and that Vikki had to open her eyes. Lily thinks Billy’s being too hard on himself (unless he’s concocting some scheme) She knows he’s a different man now.
Sally’s surprised that Adam told his Dad ‘no’ and threatened to walk away from the company (and the continuous loyalty tests) He called me arrogant. That’s infuriating but maybe Victor was just lashing out, Sally wonders what he’ll do now. He might come to understand my perspective and if he doesn’t .. (Adam doesn’t finish the sentence)
Ashland seems to find the news that Adam and Sally are a couple hilarious. It’s a recipe for disaster, Vikki thinks Sally will distract Adam from his job, and she’s underqualified for hers. Ashland feels Victor may regret his decision to support Newman Media’s CEO and COO. On cue, Vikki receives a phone-summons from her Father. About what? Ashland wonders. Vikki will soon find out.
Lily thinks it good that Billy will have an outlet with his podcasts (as long as it doesn’t take up too much of his time) Billy promises to always have time to be her COO ~kiss~
The way you’re acting isn’t the Adam I know, Sally can see that he’s filled with self-doubt. Your Father’s a titan; he’ll come to respect you for standing up to him. Adam’s glad Sally believes in him ~kiss~
Still in Adam’s office, Victor gets a video call from Mike. He’s sending a video recording of what the good doctor in Peru had to say (it’ll be hitting your inbox any minute now) Turns out that Ashland paid the clinic to falsify his medical records. He never had cancer; he’s perfectly healthy. Victor needs more evidence to convince everyone else. When Vikki arrives, he quickly ends the chat. What’s this about? Vikki asks.
My Thoughts: I’m no fan of Adam but Victor’s wrong when saying he hasn’t taken a single step towards being included in the family. Adam once dove in front of Victor to take a bullet for him, helped Abby escape a fire at Newman Towers, pulled Faith out of a car wreck and then donated a kidney to her, he also risked his freedom (when on the lam) to save Nick when he was trapped in a collapsed barn ….. How many times are we going to see Billy forgive Adam? It seemed like he’d done that years ago when he was on the stand at Adam’s trial for the hit and run that killed Delia. He told everyone that they needed to forgive Adam and repeated the same to Vikki as they stood by the tree planted in honour of Delia at Chancellor Park. I wonder whatever happened to that tree… Odd that when Adam told Sally that he threatened to walk away from the company for good, she didn’t whine about what this would mean for HER career (since she’s now more dependent on him than she was when working with Chloe)
