Glad to run into Vikki at CL’s, Sally’s granted a few minutes to blather on about her and Adam’s ideas to grow Newman Media; she’s meeting with marketing for NM and ChanceCom to talk strategy. Vikki finds that ‘interesting’. Sally knows Vikki’s betting on her to fail.
Thanking his Father for coming to his office, Adam has important news. No, it’s not about Ashland. The news is that Adam won’t have anything to say about Ashland. I’m not going to be your spy.
Nate’s at Lily’s to share his news; he’s thinking about going to work at Newman Locke.
Mind if I join you? Billy takes at seat near Ashland at Society’s bar. You look like a villain in a superhero movie. Are you planning world domination or just plotting how to get more control over your wife’s company? You must want a lot more Locke in Newman Locke (now that you aren’t going to die) Billy quips.
Though Sally designed her a beautiful wedding gown, Vikki’s still uncertain of her skillset and lack of experience. Adam’s very enthusiastic about you. Sally’s as resilient and determined as her new partner. We’re a match made in heaven, professionally speaking. Vikki suspects it’s more.
Adam doesn’t want to get wrapped up in a no-win situation with Victor, Vikki and Ashland; they already resent having to work with me. Raising his voice, Victor has reasons for not trusting Ashland about his cancer, about Vikki, or about the merger. If we allow that bastard to continue, he’s a danger to the family. No, he’s NOT family. What’s the matter with you!? Victor barks blasts Adam.
Ignoring being called his girlfriend’s right hand, Billy knows Vikki must be disappointed that Ashland will live to hinder her control over Newman Locke. He doesn’t trust Ashland. It must be hard, Ashland taunts – seeing Vikki married to a man worthy of her. Press on, he challenges – see where it gets you.
Sally declares her relationship with Adam none of Vikki’s business. IF more were going on, it would be the same as you and Ashland. Vikki doesn’t think so; we’re married and have years of business experience. You’re equals, like me and Adam, Sally persists. Equals? Is that how Adam sees it or is that your perception? Vikki leaves having given Sally something to frown about.
Victor reminds Adam that he took him into the fold, gave him opportunities and believed in him when nobody else did. You’ve never taken a step to be included in this family. Spying on Vikki’s husband won’t accomplish that, Adam tells Victor to find someone else to do his dirty work (while he does his best at NM) If you don’t do it, there’ll be no Newman Media, Victor warns.
Nate likes the idea of providing healthcare on an international, maybe an international scale. Lily plays devil’s advocate – are you sure you want to leave medicine? Nate spends most of his time behind a desk. Lily suggests an alternative – come work at Chancellor.
Ashland has to wonder how Lily feels about Billy’s obsession with Vikki’s marriage. Everything’s open between us, Billy’s relationship wasn’t built on lies (like Ashland’s) Vikki’s surprised to find Billy and Ashland together at Society. Ashland relays Billy’s belief that Vikki’s threatened by his recovery and position at Newman Locke. How many times do I have to tell you to back off? Vikki scolds.
Chancellor has infinite possibilities and things are complicated with the Newmans, Lily wants Nate to come work with her at Chancellor. Now Nate has two great offers – I did not see that coming, he chuckles.
