Back at TGP, Amanda has something to share too – an interesting job offer. Phyllis thinks it must be interesting if she’s entertaining it – you just started a practice with your sister. Jack tells Phyllis that he hasn’t responded to the random text messages he’s received – someone’s playing games with him.
Nate assures Vikki that she didn’t scare him off, and Ashland that he’ll give his offer some thought. Vikki’s left to ask Ashland why he’s so insistent on hiring Nate – there’s qualified people on staff already – why him? Ashland trusts Nate – he wants to surround himself with allies.
Lily’s still not completely sold but likes seeing the fire in Billy’s eyes. He blathers on about tapping into his self-conscious – seeing what went wrong with his life; beating his anger and addictions and coming out the other side. Lily’s not sure she’s ready to share her COO with the public.
Still at Society’s bar, Adam chides Sally for stealing his breakfast in broad daylight. He can get used to it. She’s not used to having such a big breakfast and will need to work it off. Adam has an idea on how to get their cardio in. Check please! Sally practically shouts at the bartender.
Amanda tells Imani that she was offered a job at Chancellor. Billy and Lily keep sweetening the deal (by including her) Imani will ask the hard questions; are you responding to the offer because it’s flattering? Are you concerned about going solo? Why go back to corporate law? Amanda falters.
Phyllis takes Jack’s phone. No, she won’t stop bothering him about these text messages.
Amanda makes a case for going to work at Chancellor then rests her case.
It’s like you’ve never done this before, Sally’s impatient as Adam struggles to unlock the door to their suite at TGP. They’re soon tumbling into the room and onto the bed locked at the lips.
Adam and Sally are now done burning off their breakfast calories. No, Sally didn’t get Adam naked to pump him for information. But you have to trust me. Ashland’s falling out of favour with Victor, Adam confides – he asked me to keep an eye on him. And will you? she wonders.
Over breakfast at Society, Elena understands why Nate would be tempted to leave the hospital. He’s not happy with all the paperwork and a contentious staff meeting. You don’t think working for Newman Locke would be contentious? Elena cites Nate’s friendship with Ashland. This is a life-changing decision.
Amanda and Imani are at Lily/Billy’s place to announce they’re coming aboard at Chancellor if the offer’s still on the table. Yes! Lily runs for the door – come on in. It won’t be boring, Billy promises. Imani promises to work her butt off. Let’s get to work, Lily needs a template for contracts with CI’s creative projects. Demuring to Lily’s wishes, Amanda will start working on it today.
Imani and Amanda are now on the CL’s patio, did we just join Chancellor Industries? Uh huh. Imani wants to ask Amanda something personal. Of course – we’re family, Amanda quickly replies (I had an interruption but I think Imani questioned Amanda’s relationship with Billy)
Back at the apartment, Billy loved how Lily handled the contract negotiation with Amanda. She’s feeling good about everything.
Adam resents Victor for making him a chess piece in his game with Ashland and Vikki – he earned his job as CEO. Don’t freak out but I get you, Sally gives him a kiss.
Of course Ashland considers Vikki an ally but we both know Victor’s up to something. Vikki agrees and relays that he supports Sally as COO and was all smiles when she came into Society with Adam to share her ideas for Newman Media. She doesn’t know what her Father’s up to but intends to find out.
Victor answers a video call from Mike. He’s in Peru, where of course he’s found a disgruntled former employee from the clinic Ashland received his miracle treatment; he was fired for questioning some of his bosses decisions. Victor needs irrefutable proof about Locke’s deception.
